A year ago at this very moment, I was checking into the hospital for my induction. I was feeling a myriad of emotions… excitement being the strongest. Many of you probably remember we kept Charlotte’s gender a secret from everyone… including ourselves.

After a relatively quick labor and delivery (thank you Jesus), Daniel finally got to share the news we had been waiting on for months. IT’S A GIRL! He made me wait the longest three seconds of my life to know because he was awestruck. She was here.

It’s so funny to me that prior to pregnancy, I wanted a boy first. However, all I wanted was a girl whenever I knew we were having a baby. Of course, I would have been thrilled with either because I just wanted to be a mom.

These past 12 months have been the happiest, most trying days of my life. Countless nights of not sleeping with all of us crying… going to work exhausted because she’s teething and experiencing sleep regression… the mom guilt I constantly feel because I have to go to work. Motherhood is hard, dude. But it’s also beautiful. Her laugh is my favorite sound on earth. Her little dimples in her smile are forever engraved in my heart. The nonsensical rambling she sputters when she is excited is the soundtrack of our day. The dance parties we have as we get ready or prepare food have become my cardio.

I love watching her grow into the tiny person she is becoming. She’s already so determined and brave. She is kind and already knows (and enjoys) how to share. Seeing her grow is so bittersweet,

All of this is to say Happy FIRST Birthday Charlotte Elizabeth. We love you so much!!!

My baby is SIX WEEKS OLD!!! As of yesterday… She loves nice long baths, car rides, and music. She dislikes tummy time.

Y’all, my baby is a week old today! and I are having the most fun with my beautiful doll baby, Charli Beth. We are so in love.

you are so beautiful! I can’t wait to meet Bug!

So I did do a quick session today. My pregnancy BFF wasn’t going to do maternity pics… to which I said, “that is completely unacceptable! Come over.” It took us weeks to schedule because pregnant women never feel good at the same time. We both got a great workout and then went to Target because Target. It was a good day! Can’t wait to see all the pictures!!!

In preparation for Baby B’s arrival in about TWO-ish WEEKS, I bought a new umbrella. This thing is incredible! I think I need a bigger house now…

Update on me. I’m looking a little rounder around the middle these days… I’m almost 26 weeks pregnant, and have had a few complications along the way. I was hospitalized for 8 days with significant hydronephrosis of my kidney due to the baby sitting on my ureter. A small surgery and two weeks recovery later, I’m feeling a little better. I am at a new store and really enjoying it. My levels are all low so I’m very tired. Im hoping to be back to taking pictures soon, though. I miss it. Thank you to everyone who has checked on me. Keep praying. My next surgery is November 17th. Love you all!

Finally have enough energy to start shooting again. Be on the lookout for Lucy’s first birthday cake smash. She wasn’t feeling it, but dang she was cute!
