During my lunch break, I took a moment to share something I believe will encourage and center your inner thoughts. As a guiding light, today, we want to take a moment and share a reflection with you on the following questions:
#1 Who’s speaking? Is it the voice of reason, optimism, hope, and vision? Is it the voice of negative self talk?
#2 How do you manage your “inner critical voice”
#3 Are you connected a source of power and influence who will invest into your overall success?
Today, I reflected on how Vice President Kamala Harris when faced against opposition during a Vice President candidates’ debate said with confidence when her opposition was attempting to overpower and overshadow her voice- she simply said “I’m Speaking.”
Today, we simply and confidently tell our inner critic- I’m speaking.

As emerging leaders, finding your mechanism to manage and control the “fear factors” is important to the growth of your leadership capacity.
As you continue to emerge, you may face new challenges that will heighten the “fear factors.” However, understanding your capacity and validating the power of your intentional leadership will allow you to do it afraid and to accomplish it well.

Are you struggling to expand your leadership capacity? Feeling dormant and stagnant? Try the repotting strategy.
If potted plants have to be repositioned in a new environment to grow and expand, as emerging and/or advanced leaders, we have to have to consider a change of environment and conditions to experience a new growth spurt.
You can only grow but so much in your current pot. It’s time to do and strategize something different.

Thank you to the Georgia Southern University Georgia Southern Network of Black Alumni & Teia Acker for today’s spotlight during GSU NOBA Black History Celebration.
I stand on the shoulder of giants who paved the way for me to have access to education. I am extremely grateful to carry torch in some capacity and in my space of influence to ensure present and future generations are able to have access and space in education.
I look forward to opportunities to serve and give back to the university whose education and student experience have afforded me opportunies to grow professionally and personally. Georgia Southern University
