Looking for fun activities for the kids this summer? Wing Luke Museum has opened registration for three different week-long online summer camps from July 26th to August 13th! Each camp features a Camp-In-A-Box bringing creativity and fun into your home with daily art projects and virtual exploration of the Chinatown International-District guided by our featured teaching artists.
Week 1 brings an action-packed week of "Camp Bruce Lee." Created in partnership with the Bruce Lee Foundation, campers will learn from the teachings and life of Bruce Lee through daily martial arts lessons, guided virtual explorations of the A Dragon Lives Here exhibit and Chinatown-International District, as well as through arts and crafts, games and more!
Week 2 celebrates what makes us special with "Express Yourself." From our identities we hold to the cultures and communities we are a part of—we’ll make art projects inspired to share bits and pieces of ourselves.
Week 3 taps into the inner nerd with "Nerd Camp." From graphic novels, fantasy, science-fiction and videogames—we’ll take our interests and be inspired by meeting Asian American and Pacific Islander American artists who have embraced their inner nerd.

Our Story
Full of Expression while making an Impression
Why Nice Rice? Growing up in two cultures, Asian then American and both. Because words sound funny when they rhyme, because whimsy makes people smile.
Growing up crafty, SY had to explore her creativity. Painting, drawing, sewing, gluing, cutting, taping, tufting, she was usually up to her elbows in something.
SY used to make her own Halloween costumes and having grown up with comics, books, games and pop culture, it seemed natural to apply those interests into a hobby of costuming. But it wasn't until well into college that cosplay became the gateway to really getting into the spirit of making. SY's partner in craft and husband, The Dev also shared an intense love of all things Geek and as a couple, derped out to many a costume.
So, it wasn't long until we chose to start branching out into creating cuteness as a business. Partly inspired by good friends, we began our deep dive into the cozy world of the small crafter. One random trip to a sewing expo show and we went home with a custom embroidery machine, digitizing software and a whole lot of excitement. Here was the chance to bring our 2-D images to life. And so, our plush family was born. Onigiri, dumplings and other food with faces. Cutey fat animals, squeaky, plush even clothing and fun and functional smalls. It's labor but how could we not love it? And we hope you will, too.
