Beginings
Introduced to the Hoop in early 2013, Selena James, of Pursuit of Pi, began practicing the art of hoop dance as an outlet for personal obstacles blocking her path. It was through hoop dance that she discovered first hand the numerous mental, physical, and spiritual attributes the hoop could bring. She formed a profound appreciation for the limitless movements and freedom associated with the dance accompanied by the challenge to discover more. Throughout the years she connected with other hoop dancers in the community and participated in hoopjams, workshops, and classes facilitated by infulential Hoop instructors and performers. To expand on her relationship, inside and out of the hoop, Selena began incorporating the hoop into her Yoga practice to help form balance and gain a deeper connection with herself.
In 2018 Selena James made the decision to teach this beautiful art to all who want to join the dance. She joined the HoopLove Coach teacher training, created and facilitated by the talented Deanne Love. This opened the gateway that would lead her to a path of sharing, connecting, and exploring the benefits of hoop dance.
