AmmAs Helping Hands

AmmAs Helping Hands was founded in 2014, to honor the blessed memory of Bhanu Shah. Bhanu and Raj frequently traveled the world, working with artisans and crafts-persons in developing countries. With a fondness for humanity and love and passion for children, Bhanu put a smile on every person she encountered. AmmAs Helping Hands exists because Bhanu was a person of wisdom, spirituality and beautiful manners all of which had grown from a genuine respect and love for the whole of humanity and continues to inspire us every day. If anyone has any weakness, make it your duty to fill that gap, to help overcome. To speak about someone's weakness is not greatness. The greatness lies in removing that weakness, removing obstacles and allowing those struggling an opportunity to succeed. The world is facing an ever-growing gap in income inequality. It is estimated that over 1.2 billion people live with $1.25 or less a day. In Kenya, 43% (nearly 20 million) of the population falls within this category. On an average, a child in Kenya will attend school for only six years of his/her life. We believe that keeping children interested in education past the six years is crucial. We would love to see our small non-profit become obsolete :to eliminate the hunger so the children and their communities are self-sufficient. That the schools have clean water, desks and other basic resources coupled with modern technology so students do not have extreme impediments to their future
