Thunder Road Theatre Company is forced to cancel our next production. A great thank you to the ones who took time out of their busy schedule to audition.

We genuinely regret having to make this decision, but we feel that there is no other option at this moment in time, unfortunately.

We will return in 2024.

**CASTING CALL**

Auditions for Crab Cakes and “UnAlive” by Michael Druce, Directed by Michael Bailey, will be July 28th from 7pm-8pm and July 29th from 12pm-1pm Millers Chapel United Methodist Church

Call Backs will take place on July 29th at 6pm.

During a surprise storm, Captain Savage Raines goes missing at sea. The wreckage of the Half Shell is found, but with no sign of the commercial fisherman, Sheriff Sandy Shoals assumes Captain Raines is unalive. That wouldn’t be a surprise considering what a hateful codger he was. After all, who else would name his twin daughters Misery and Calamity?!

The sheriff finds the incident especially curious since the shipwreck was just a day after Savage announced his retirement and revealed plans to divvy up Peg Legg Seafoods. And since those business plans minimized his wife Peggy’s role in the company and largely cut out the rest of the family with the exception of his bootlicking twin daughters, everyone had a motive for sabotage.

DUNGENESS CRABBE: (Female, 40+) Captain Savage Raines’s sister. Married to Stone Crabbe. Well-meaning but whiny.

PEGGY LEGG-RAINES: (Female, 30+) Captain Raines’s wife; sardonic and straightforward. All business.

STONE CRABBE: (Male, 40+) The captain’s brother-in-law. Clueless owner of Crabbe’s Crab Cakes.

DECADENCE RAINES: (Female, 15-20) Youngest daughter of Peggy and Savage Raines; independent, matter-of-fact, and honest to a fault.

C.D. LAWYER: (Male or Female, 25+) Shady attorney and chairman of the board of directors for Peg Legg Seafoods.

SHERIFF SANDY SHOALS: (Male or Female, 25+) New to the job; nobody’s fool.

CALAMITY RAINES: (Female, 15-20) Another Raines daughter; selfish and shallow; Misery’s
fraternal twin.

MISERY RAINES: (Female, 15-20) Another daughter; superficial and self-centered; Calamity’s
fraternal twin.

CAPTAIN SAVAGE RAINES: (Male, 40+) Family patriarch; owner of Peg Legg Seafoods.

HUMP DAY: (Male, 18+) Mysterious harbormaster.

The show will be November 3rd, 4th, 10th, and 11th.

Bonny Pendleton as Ouiser

Bonny Baker Pendleton graduated from The University of Tennessee with a degree in theater. She has appeared at UT's Hunter Hills and Clarence Brown Theatres. She has also worked with Theatre Knoxville Downtown, The Tennessee Stage Company, The Word Players, Powell Playhouse, Last Call Theatre and the Hattiesburg Theatre Company. Her favorite acting roles so far are Nat in Rabbit Hole and Peg in The Outgoing Tide. She is very happy to be making her first appearance with Thunder Road Theatre Company.

Raven Shade Ryder as M’Lynn

Raven Ryder is a 40 year old adult on paper only. She's married to her soulmate Stephen and is mother to 3 children (2 are special needs) whom she calls the Triad of Cute Chaos. She began acting on stage in elementary school; continued all through high school & college. Her past performances include Inherit the Wind, A Midsummer Night's Dream, Much Ado about Nothing, Barefoot in the Park, Miracle on South Division Street, & many others. She's been with Thunder Road Theater Company since it's inception in 2019.

Katie Manning as Shelby

Katie Manning is so excited to be back on stage as “Shelby” in her all-time favorite show! Katie was most recently in TKD’s production of Four Old Broads. She would like to thank Eli, Mimi, and Nana for all their support in all her crazy ideas and also thank the playwright, Robert Harling, for such an inspiring, wholesome story.

Barbara Robertson as Clairee

Barbara is excited to be in her first production with Thunder Road Theatre Company. This is her third time to be in Steel Magnolias but the first time as Clairee, and she is having so much fun with it! She has most recently performed in Suite Surrender and 45 Seconds From Broadway with Theatre Knoxville. She has also appeared in productions with Powell Playhouse, and has served her church drama ministry through acting, writing, and directing. A retired teacher, she still works at her school part time and also works in children's ministry. She loves to camp, travel, garden, and is an active member of the Halls Crossroads Women's League. She is grateful for the loving support of her husband, Allen, and her daughter, Rosemary. Enjoy the show!

Chasity Bailey as Truvy

Chasity Bailey is thrilled to be making her on-stage debut. Though this is a new experience for her, she is glad that she stepped out of her comfort zone. Chasity has been a life long fan of Steel Magnolias and to be able to be a part of such an amazing story is surreal to her. Though she has never been on stage, she did do the lights and sound for Thunder Road Theatre Company’s last production, Miracle on South Division Street. She is truly appreciative of all who pushed her to step out and try something new. She hopes that everybody enjoys the show!

Jaclyn Fischesser as Annelle

Jaclyn Fischesser is making her stage debut as Annelle in "Steel Magnolias." Jaclyn is excited to bring her own interpretation to the character while staying true to the original production. She hopes to continue to grow and challenge herself as an actor in the future. Jaclyn would like to thank her parents for instilling in her a love for the arts and supporting her throughout everything, as well as her supportive boyfriend, Nic, for always encouraging and believing in her dreams.
