5-6 coats in. Will reassess tomorrow in natural light.
First shot at using colored lacquer. I used alcohol inks from amazon in lacquer. The first thin toner coat is on. Shooting for this dark tobacco-y color
Should be up for grabs after the holiday season! This was after the first two thin coats of lacquer.
A healthy schmearing of filler for a smooth top coat
Padauk wood. Very dense and chippy. Makes a huge mess. Everything will be red for a month after.
Will be for sale soon as its cured and polished
Working on 3 client guitars this week. This one is getting a fresh set of tuners. Its already been cleaned, ordered tuners this morning from bitterroot guitars. Itll be ready to string up soon.

A side quest ive had in mind for a while, putting a 16" radius on this squier neck π€
The next fretboard going on π€
Am sickly but found a cool trick
Mistakenly routed the pu cavity too far back π₯². So cut a spacer to glue it. Whie waiting for that to dry got started laying the next fretboard
Fretted, headstock cut, taped up π
Routed the nut slot. Getting the order of operations down is a real brain teaser, theres so many ways of doing things π΅βπ«
Proof of concept more or less. Using a long ruler as a guide to saw out the neck with enough tolerance to sand down to shape.
Finally feels like something is happening. Still not sure how im going to cut it out. Im thinking carefully cut by hand along a straight edge.
After delays with the CNC i decided to go back to basics. Got some padouk blanks and birdseye maple fretboards were included at no charge. Put in a big order for tools that im still waiting on. Waiting on the neck blank too, as i do t have the machinery to make my own blanks
Finally back to work after some delays waiting for parts and a spell of depression π₯Ή
Only the best. Graphtech kicks butt π€
So ive been dealing with this all week π
Still a sh**load of landing to do yet BUT FOLKS WE HAVE A GUITAR
Back to work carving the neck before gluing sides. Still very chunky. Aways to go yet
