GBO! A team including JAI has been awarded a project that will transform the Tennessee River waterfront – the Neyland Entertainment District.
The project from Dixon Greenwood, along with Jake Miller, Taylor Gray, the Hartland Hotel Group and JAI includes a 175,000-square-foot entertainment district, replacement of the current garage, and a condotel.

Retrofit magazine has highlighted Tower Shops at The Mountain Mile in Pigeon Forge in a feature about repurposed retail facilities across the country.
JAI provided master planning and design services, reshaping an enclosed mall as new attraction and retail space with materials and textures creating the character of an old mining town. It also includes an outdoor experience with turf islands, benches, natural boulders, fire pits and kid play areas.

JAI is providing architectural and interior design services for Maryville College’s new Downtown Hub, which will reconnect the college with its downtown roots. Opening later this year in the historic J&K Grocery building, the hub will be the headquarters of the college’s Hospitality and Regional Identity program, among other uses.

JAI Vice President and Principal Architect Jeff Williamson recently helped celebrate the official opening of a new STEM Innovation Lab at Knoxville Catholic High School. The 2,130-square-foot project renovated an existing space into a classroom featuring mobile furniture systems and video displays and also a workshop area, which includes a CNC router, water jet, table saw, drill press and other equipment.

This week, Project Manager Josh Biden was honored to participate in the ribbon cutting for the JAI-designed renovations to the gym and performing arts center at Sacred Heart Cathedral School Knoxville.
The project included updates to flooring, bleachers, restrooms, locker rooms, lighting, and sound and audiovisual equipment. Johnson & Galyon Construction served as general contractor.
Throwback to our work on the University of Tennessee, Knoxville Rocky Top Dining Hall, recipient of a 2023 Education Design Showcase Project of Distinction from Spaces4Learning. Opened in 2021, the 1,200-seat dining hall is the hub and anchor of student life for the university’s West Campus Redevelopment project.
