We recommend our 30 minute session for first birthday portraits! We have found that 2 outfits is a good number to fit within this time frame and still keep your baby happy. Plan for baby to be well rested and fed prior to arriving to your session. Our motto is ‘keep it simple’ and that goes for not only props but outfits. For a classic look, we love neutral colors and recommend avoiding brightly patterned outfits. We have a good collection of props in the studio that work well for first birthdays! You’re welcome to bring a cake, too. We like to follow the lead of our babies. Let’s set up your session for success by keeping our expectations flexible & letting baby take the lead. If baby doesn’t want to sit in a chair— no chair. If baby doesn’t want to wear the first birthday hat —no hat. If baby wants to walk and crawl— let’s get some action shots!
