I worked from home as a PMU artist for a few months. I knew that I wasnt going to be able to get the traffic, respect and attention that I wanted. I finally gained courage to say F it, just do it! I found the most amazing people who owned broadway salon suites. I fell in love with the space, it had character and a whole lot of potential. I mostly loved that the owners were big on family and respected small businesses and understood the struggles it comes with. They were extremely patient, understanding and helpful when i needed it the most. This place made me feel comfortable and confident. So I made sure to sign a lease with them, opened up my own salon, in hopes that my clients also feel the same confidence and comfort I felt coming into this building.

Anyway, this is where it all started. In my house, upstairs in my tiny loft where I had dreams. My husband and my kids, the biggest supporters I have; My family and friends who love my crazy ideas and are down to jump when I say jump... thank you so much.

hello everyone! im excited to announce that i have finally received all the licensing and permits required to run a my little salon! it was so much stress; my nerves were challenged and i unlocked things in my mind that i thought was impossible.

anyway, for those who don't know me, my name is haka dela cruz. I went to elementary school, middle school and high school in the south bay. i then went to college to be a respiratory therapist and worked as one until i realized that i was working to pay for day care. i have 3 kids who range between the 3 to 10 years old. I've been happily married to my husband for 12 years.

a friend introduced me to permanent make up and i fell in love. i trained to do eyebrows with a very talented local artist and later lip blush with another talented artist located in Fontana. because ive always dreamt of owning my own business, meet people and having my own schedule, i decided to open my own small salon.

i found a cute suite with a lot of character inside broadway salon in la mesa and instantly knew that this was the spot for me. i put my big girl pants on and jumped. i was unaware of the road that I had entered taking this leap but I'm so glad i did it. this experience opened so many doors, i stepped out of my comfort zone, i was challenged in ways i never imagined and met some amazing people along the way.
