Dry Tikes & Wet Wipes is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization based in Thurston County designed to supplement the diaper needs of low income families.

Interested in helping? There is an immediate need as they are down to their last few size 6 diapers. It’s been one of the most popular sizes they have given out. If you are able to donate the organization would be so appreciative! Come see me on Tuesdays from 11-2! They accept donations dropped off or shipped directly from Amazon.

Throughout 2023 olympiahistory.org will be exploring the origins of area place names. Hicks Lake in Lacey is named for the Hicks family. Urban E. Hicks arrived in Thurston County in the 1850s. He served as Territorial Auditor, librarian, schoolteacher, and publisher. His son, Gallatin Gwin Hicks, established a resort, Gwinwood, on Hicks Lake, that still exists. What's on my mind? The Real Estate market and inflation. Right now we are sitting in a perfect storm of LOW inventory and HIGHER interest rates then we have seen over the past few years. The Federal Reserve is trying to curb inflation by slowing down spending. Bottom line is that I (along with many other agents) have ready, willing and able buyers that outweigh the inventory. People still have a need for housing no matter what the market is doing. If you know anyone on the fence about selling send them my way so we can talk through any obstacles they are trying to get through and get that house listed!
