The Commission denied a petition on Aug. 10, 2023 to initiate rulemaking for increasing the wager limit of amusement games from $3.50 to $5. The petitioner, Gameworks, did not attend the meeting to provide clarification on reasoning for increasing the wager limits.

The Commission adopted the filing of language on expansion of the “qualified sports team” definition in WAC 230-03-138 at the July 20, 2023 meeting. A petition by the Spokane Chiefs hockey club had been presented at the May Commission meeting for rulemaking consideration to expand the definition of a “qualified sports team.”
