My mother always made it a goal to go every year, and even to this day, we try to go with our girls.

I won't lie. My favorite holiday was Halloween and my husband has ALWAYS been Christmas, but ever since the girls came into our lives, that has changed. There is just something about looking at your kids and seeing the world all over through their little eyes. Anyway....

Working on a new addition to our display 🙂🙃 What could it beeeee

A lot of people have asked me who we chose as the non-profit to try to help this Christmas season. I did reach out and speak to the mother and young ladies that run it. We are still fine-tuning how we can do this but I am happy to let you know we chose The weekend bag program. I've been watching what these young ladies do with the help of Dawn/volunteers. What blows my mind is the dedication they put into this EVERY DAY.

Little about them, The Weekend Bag Program is a kid-founded and run 501(c)3 nonprofit created to provide students going home from school over the weekend with food and hygiene they otherwise wouldn’t have. The program runs the full 10-month school year and the students on the program receive a Weekend Bag each week. The program is designed to be anonymous so as not to add any additional stress on the student. The Weekend Bag Program Inc. Team has the school administration identify a school liaison to work with The Weekend Bag Program team, the school liaison identifies which students would benefit most from receiving a Weekend Bag and then lets The Weekend Bag Team know how many bags it would need. All changes work through the Weekend Bag Program Team and the school liaison. The Program has two types of bags designed for our homeless students (who either go to a shelter or foster care after school) and a full food and hygiene bag. The bags are delivered to the schools each week by The Weekend Bag Program Inc. Team Volunteers. The bags or left with the school liaisons to distribute to the students participating in the program.
