God's Refinement Process

Purpose: To make us more like Christ.

The definition of refine is:
remove impurities or unwanted elements from (a substance), to sift.
improve (something) by making small changes, more subtle and accurate.

The spiritual process of Refinement is led by the Holy Spirit to assist us in becoming more Christ like. So, our old sinful behaviors and ways 'we once were' are being sifted out/rooted out/ cleansed/ purified out of us and are being replaced by Christ’s likeness.

This spiritual refinement process is necessary because it prepares us for our future endeavors in Christ.

Moreover, the refinement process is a process. It’s not an overnight change, but a gradual removal/purification over time.

"Behold, I have refined you, but not as silver; I have tried you in the furnace of affliction".- Isaiah 48:10

The Holy Spirit identifies something planted by the enemy in our hearts, and He works with us to remove it, in a slow gradual process until we just don’t do them anymore.

"We know that the person we used to be was crucified with him (Jesus) to put an end to sin in our bodies. Because of this we are no longer slaves to sin."- Romans 6:6

In closing, for those of you who are experiencing refinement- congratulations!!
See it as an honor that the Lord loves you so much that He wants to help you change and to become a better version of yourself in Him.

'Sucker-punch' before Deliverance

Enemy Tactic: Attacking the area of which you are being Delivered

Purpose: to get in one last blow (or punch) (just before the loss).

As a child I would get into fights with my siblings and just before the fight ended completely, (you know the time frame between the verbal ending compared to being physically split up)as the person with authority came over declaring finality, someone would throw the 'last punch'.
Can anyone relate to this? There were several times the fight was called over, but someone (including myself) would throw the last punch or kick or mean word toward the other person. Sometimes these situations, or this timing of an attack, is called a 'sucker-punch'.

So for this particular tactic, I am calling it a 'sucker-punch' to describe what the enemy is doing because it is just before Deliverance is had.

Think about it... what area in your life are you seeking Deliverance and what seems to continue happening to you in this area?
Is a lot of your stress, anxiety or concern surrounding this area?
Does it seem like you keep getting attacked there?

I'm sure it does!

This thing that you're being delivered from doesn't want to let you go easily. It wants you to continue idolizing it, the devil wants to keep you chained down by it! BUT the Victory is already won, and just before Deliverance the devil throws a 'sucker-punch' for one last blow to that area. The enemy wants to see your response, will you take the bait and continue fighting with him or will you leave it (surrender it) to the Authority to handle?

How to counter the 'sucker-punch':

1. Rebuke it and the devil in Jesus name and keep chugging along! Nothing shall take your eyes off of the Victory and Deliverance.

2. Bear down harder into the Word and into the Lord-you will see the character of the Lord over the situation/circumstance.

3. Revelation, Deliverance and Reward- In Job 38-42, the Lord bring revelation to Job and his friends, delivers them from the enemy, then rewards Job with twice as much as he had before.

For encouragement keep in mind:
In Job 1:8-12, God is boasting about Job to satan because He was proud of His servant. This is why satan retorted in verse 11, "But now stretch out your hand and strike everything he has, and he will surely curse you to your face." Yet God knew Job and proudly permitted His servant Job to be tested.

So if you are experiencing similar things as Job, perhaps you too are being tested because the Father is proud of you. He knows you're going to make it and continue to be faithful to Him despite the situation and circumstance. Although it may not seem like it, you are being honored by the Lord as He tests and purifies you, to bring about Deliverance in that area of your life.

2 Chronicles 20:15- "And he said, “Listen, all Judah and inhabitants of Jerusalem and King Jehoshaphat: Thus says the Lord to you, ‘Do not be afraid and do not be dismayed at this great horde, for the battle is not yours but God’s."

Psalm 121:1-2 -"I lift up my eyes to the hills. From where does my help come? My help comes from the LORD, who made heaven and earth."

Romans 8:37- "No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us."

FACADE OF CHOICE

Enemy's tactic: Teach us things, situations, life events, scenarios are 'either/ or'. EITHER they are one way, OR they are another.

Purpose: To limit the thinking of the Children of God by getting us to believe 'either/or', which limits ourselves (faith, capabilities, life, ect.) therefore limits the capabilities of our LIMITLESS GOD.

Psychological effect:
"a type of informal fallacy or persuasive technique in which an argument is constructed so as to imply the necessity of choosing one of only two alternatives. This ignores the possibility that (a) the alternatives may not be mutually exclusive and (b) there may be other equally viable alternatives." (https://dictionary.apa.org/either-or-fallacy)

What it looks like:

There are only two options- 1 or 2.
Examples:
Either Pepsi, Or Coke.
Either right, Or left.
Either public school, OR private school

Spiritual Truth:

FREEDOM does not operate in an EITHER/OR.

FREEDOM does NOT operate in a two option system.

These are contrived options, meaning there is an allusion of option, BUT in actuality it is forced limitations and our acceptance of those limitations.

Either/Or is created by the enemy to perpetuate false choice, false option, and fake freedom. It is all a FACADE.

" It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery." Galatians 5:1

Enemy's tactic: SENSORY OVERLOAD

Purpose:
To dull our senses, therefore, dulling the voice of the Holy Spirit within us.

Psychological effect:
Overstimulation, a type of sensory processing difficulty, occurs when your senses relay more stimuli to the brain than it can handle.

What it looks like:

Overstimulation typically happens when one or more of your senses is overstimulated. Symptoms may include:

-EXTREME IRRITABILITY
-DISCOMFORT OR RESTLESSNESS
-STRESS, FEAR, OR ANXIETY ABOUT YOUR SURROUNDINGS (your life)
-sensitivity to certain textures, fabrics, clothing tags, or other things that may rub against the skin
-unable to hear or focus over background sounds
-dislike of certain food flavors or textures
-urge to cover your ears or shield your eyes from too much stimuli

*Constant stimulation can be more than the environment, it can be in our foods as well; example, sugar. Sugar is a stimulant!*

Spiritual effect:

If we cannot hear the voice of the Holy Spirit, how can we operate effectively and productively in the Spirit? Lack of Spiritual operation is like a hamster running on a wheel.
"You keep running and running in the same place, only to tire yourself out. The devil doesn't have to do anything (to you or about you) if you're on the wheel."--as led by the Holy Spirit

Things for us to think about:
1. What stimulants do you have in your life?
2. Where are we placing our time?
3. What happened to quiet time?
4. Children need quiet time & rest during the day away from stimulants (in all forms).

Matthew 14:30- "But when he SAW the wind, he was AFRAID and, beginning to sink, cried out, “Lord, save me!”

(Humans cannot see wind, thus Peter was seeing the effects of the wind in his environment/surroundings. For that reason, Peter became overwhelmed (overstimulated) from the experience, hence his FEAR.)

Love is Inconvenient

"And this is love, that we walk according to his commandments; this is the commandment, just as you have heard from the beginning, so that you should walk in it."- 2 John 1:6

In my prayer time this morning, the Holy Spirit bought this topic up to share. He reminded me that as Strategies of the Enemy is to illuminate the enemy's tactics of psychological warfare, AND it is for God to address mental blockages we have over ourselves.

What is an inconvenience?
"Trouble or difficulty caused to one's personal requirements or comfort."

Every day we experience inconveniences, but why/how? In the moment they just happen, or a change in our original plan occurs.

Either way, an inconvenience is something based on the human experience because it is a form of control.
However, we are not in control. We never were and we never will be.

“Lord, I know that people’s lives are not their own; it is not for them to direct their steps.” – Jeremiah 10:23

So when we expect or demand something to be established 'a certain way' according to our own comforts or preferences, we can become easily and overwhelmingly 'inconvenienced'.

This is not the way of the Lord. The Holy Spirit said, "I AM in control. Therefore, nothing should or is inconvenient."

As believers, we are not our own (Jeremiah 10:23) and we move when God tells us to move, or do as instructed by the Holy Spirit. Thus, we should never experience inconvenience because we are not living according to our ways or plans, but in obedience to the Lord and His plans.

"Submit yourselves therefore to God."- James 4:7

Submission is an act of obedience + Obedience is a display of Love= Love is our walk according to HIS commandments (or rule) (2 John 1:6)

Poisoning the minds of the Children of God

2 Corinthians 11:3 (TPT)-"But now I’m afraid that just as Eve was deceived by the serpent’s clever lies, your thoughts may be corrupted and you may lose your single-hearted devotion and pure love for Christ."

The mental poisoning of the Children of God is an important strategic tactic for the devil and it is a form of psychological warfare which can occur everyday, numerous times a day.

Mental poisoning effects several areas of our being, including: emotions, thoughts, words, and behaviors. Today I will discuss mental poisoning in our thoughts.

I have found mental poisoning to be like a drop of water into a pool. One thought can create a ripple effect that can change everything. For example, have you ever had a great day then a random thought comes to your ming and dampens your mood? Then because of your mood change, your whole day goes downhill from there? I believe that was mental poisoning.

Mental poisoning sounds like:
"You're not smart enough." "You really think you can look like that." "Why would God do that for you?"
"It's your fault." "Did you see their face? I don't think they like you."

Recognition:
Generally, any time a random thought uses the word:
"You ____"
Suspect it is the enemy.
Think about it; just as we speak about ourselves, we use the word "I" in our thoughts; "I don't like that food" or "I don't like those clothes."

We don't talk about ourselves as 'you'. We don't naturally think about ourselves as 'you'.

People who are talking to us say, "you".

So anytime a random thought drops into your mind that talks using the verbiage "you"-suspect it's a mental attack through poisoning.

Prevention:
1. Rebuke the thought right away.
2. Speak the Word of God over yourself.
3. Pray.
4. Make sure you put on the armor of God everyday.
Ephesians 6:11-17

Enemy's tactic: To have the children of God believe they've lost (or are losers), so why try.

Purpose: To disparage the Children of God from using the authority given to them through Christ Jesus when He defeated sin, death, & the grave. To prevent the Children of God believing (& knowing) they have already won and stand in victory with Victory.
Deuteronomy 20:4, 1 Corinthians 15:57, Romans 8:1-39, Luke 10:17-20

What this looks like in us - low self confidence, low self-esteem, avoidance/ fear, postponing, giving up/quitting/not starting at all, low levels of commitment, few goals, negative self-talk, negative beliefs in personal ability.

Psychological term: self-efficacy

"Self-efficacy refers to an individual's belief in his or her capacity to execute behaviors necessary to produce specific performance attainments. Self-efficacy reflects confidence in the ability to exert control over one's own motivation, behavior, and social environment. These cognitive self-evaluations influence all manner of human experience, including the goals for which people strive, the amount of energy expended toward goal achievement, and likelihood of attaining particular levels of behavioral performance. How to improve/change mentality & behaviors:

I know it has been a while since I've posted anything, but God has been working on me/with me in other areas.

I want to be more active in this ministry so I will be making posts, but they will be once or twice a week. That is what I can commit to at this time and I do not want to 'grow weary in doing good'.

For education, I will share sermons I have found useful that address mentality and behavior.

For awareness, I will share some militaristic strategies that have been learned throughout human history which can be related to how the devil operates.
