Ammie's Kitchen
An artist of the culinary kind, I love baking and cooking and strive to create magic.
This week's food!! We're not cooking tomorrow, so I'm going to go ahead and post. Last night, we made hummus and I toasted some flatbread on the flat top. Tonight, the other group made kefta, Lebanese meatballs, and my group made Persian flatbread. Everything was yummy!! I think the hummus was better than what you can buy in the store.
Last night, we made steak with a red wine sauce (my group) and aligot potatoes (the other group). This is my presentation. Tonight, we had fish and risotto. My group made the risotto and that's all I took a picture of. I stirred so much, I have a blister on my finger now.
My first attempt at Challah.

And, as promised, my first attempt at French Macarons! They're rose macarons with vanilla French buttercream filling. They're decorated with white chocolate, rose buds, and rose gold sanding sugar. They were delicious!! 💕
My very first ever attempt at Creme Brulee!!! It was soupy, but very good!! I also made French Macarons, but those have yet to be decorated. I'll post them later.
Spent the whole day in the kitchen making Christmas treats!! They turned out pretty good, if I do say so myself!! They're Chocolate Walnut Fudge and Mirror Glaze Christmas Ornament Cake Pops.
I tried the Apple Cinnamon Roll Bake I saw on Facebook! I spiced it up some myself, too! T'was yum!!
I made a shiney apple cinnamon cake today!! The apple was an afterthought, but a delicious one! It's an almond flour yellow cake mix with cinnadust icing and a red shimmer. 💕 It was very good!
Pork Wontons and Rosemary Smashed Potatoes. 😋
Mother's Day 2022
Some past dishes I have made!
Today's lunch and last night's dinner!
A more adult approach to the classic PB&J. Toasted ciabatta with peanut butter and grape jelly spread, and sliced strawberries and bananas. It was yummy!!!
I cooked twice today. For breakfast, we had some yummy French Toast made with pumpkin spice brioche I found at Aldi and for lunch, we had Halloween pasta and meatballs with cheesy garlic naan. It was all very good!!
