In the hustle and bustle of life, don’t forget to change it up. Try something new, your tastebuds will thank you! Believe it or not, I used to be a very finicky eater. As I’ve expanded on the flavors of the world, I have found some amazing things that I never thought I would enjoy. Octopus is one of them. This salad from is a delicious light twist from the traditional grilled octopus you see on menus these days. Octopus with Potato, Celery, Olives and a Lemon vinaigrette is a light, bright and absolute delicious bite to add some fun before you divulge into one of their beautiful dishes. They have amazing gluten free pizzas, and the sausage pasta is to die for.

What’s better on a cool February day… pure comfort food ❤️😋 knows what they are doing with the BBQ beef ribs, slow cooked to perfection over night. Served with their luscious mashed potatoes and glorious heirloom cauliflower with golden raisins.

Anything but Basic Panini

Back at it but this time in Austin, TX and it was freezing!!! Instead of battling the cold to explore the local culinary delights, we stayed in and used the basics from the fridge to make a quick and anything but basic panini.

Ingredients: get creative! 🤩
- Roasted Turkey Slices,
- Variety of meats from the Charcuterie Trio - ours contained prosciutto, Genoa salami, Soppressata
- Bacon (because, why not?!) 🤪 - cook as you wish,
- Dijon Mustard or condiments of your choosing
- Gluten Free Sandwich bread,
- Irish Cheddar,
- A handful of mixed greens,
- Butter for a nice golden crusty sandwich.
Start by heating a grill pan or skillet over medium heat, heat meats until nice and warm.
Add approximately 1T of butter until it melts
Place bread facedown and cook until golden brown, flip and repeat on other side, placing shredded or sliced cheese and meats on top
Top with mixed greens
Add a good schmeer of Dijon (or choice of condiments…aïoli, smashed avocado, Mayo…)
Top with the other half, serve with a side of fresh fruit or yogurt and enjoy! 😋
PRO-TIP: add some potato chips inside for some extra added crunch. Yummy!

Caught! Biscuit in hand! 🙀🫣🥸😵‍💫 We are all guilty of falling off the wagon here and there. The last 3 years have been trying when it comes to my health. Autoimmune diseases can take a toll and make even the biggest of Mac & Cheese fanatics put aside gluten and other inflammatory foods for better health and less inflammation. Today was a special occasion and Rosemary Biscuits hold up to their name… “The Irresistible Biscuit”. As I get older, the more I realize that the stress of trying to be perfect, isn’t healthy. Do your best. We all have good days, bad days, perfect days and imperfect days. Enjoy life, do and give what you can. If you mess up, acknowledge it, apologize if needed and try again.

Wow, does it gets hectic around the holidays! Don’t forget to thank the host by helping clean the aftermath of fun. I use Dawn Powerwash by and it cuts deep into grease, saving you time and getting you back to the your loved ones in no time!

Did you know that yogurt can be used in marinades to help tenderize the meat?

Marinade ingredients:
Chicken thighs
Advieh
Cardamom
Cumin
Turmeric
Cinnamon
Chili Powder
Paprika
Granulated garlic
Cayenne Pepper
Salt
Pepper
Lemon
Plain yogurt
Onion
Orange Juice
Saffron mixed with melted butter

Place chicken in a gallon sized which are the best and so easy for marinades! Add all ingredients into the bag, seal and mix. Let sit for a minimum of 20 minutes or even better…overnight!

BBQ or Cook in a sauté pan over medium to medium low heat. Baste as at cooks with saffron butter and flip often to insure the chicken does not dry out.

Serve with your favorite rice (Polo in Farsi) and shirazi salad.

Hungry and need a quick, healthy and impressive meal idea? You can do this with, or without the bread. I used Gluten Free Ciabatta toasted with melted Gran Cru Greyere Cheese, Mixed Greens,
Pan seared Chicken Breast seasoned with Advieh, Garlic Powder, Cardamom and Cumin Served with Sautéed mushrooms (Yellow Onion, Garlic, Gluten Free Soy Sauce, Red or White Wine… whatever is open, and a spritz of lemon. Finished with Salt&Pepper, and butter mounted until velvety. Stack chicken and mushrooms with or without the bread and enjoy! 😋

Have you ever done your own pickling? Super easy process for a super pop of flavor! Slice vegetables of your choosing. This is for Mexican food so I used and place in a 50/50 mixture of water and vinegar, add a little olive oil, salt, Mexican oregano, black peppercorns, and bay leaves. Cook for 15 minutes, take off heat and let cool. The longer it can sit, the better!
