13 years sober today.
I remember attending my first meeting in 2010. I saw a glowing happy young woman taking a 13 year sobriety chip.
I couldn’t fathom why or HOW someone could stay sober that long.
My life was slowly deteriorating. I was not proud of the woman in the mirror. I didn’t want to take the road my parents took. I wanted to have a full life, full of love, friendship, accomplishments, and most importantly self-love.
My biggest fear was my mom dying, and the effects her addiction had on my little brother.
I knew that it had to start with me, and I could only focus on my sobriety and recovery.
In the last 13 years, I’ve experienced some painful life experiences : my fathers illness, my mothers addiction, the death of both my parents, two separations.
I’ve also had so much joy! I graduated with my bachelors, my nutrition certification, starting and stopping businesses, the birth of my daughter, amazing friendships, mentorship, love, support, compassion.
One thing I’ve heard and learned is that we can only experience joy to the depth of pain we allow ourselves to feel.
Today, I can say I show up for the good, ugly, painful and joyful.
Life is a wild ride and I’m grateful to be fully alive to experience it.

🌟 Happy National Baking Day! 🌟 As a nutritionist, I love incorporating whole ingredients into yummy recipes to satisfy those snack or sweet cravings. Today, I’m excited to share an easy cupcake recipe that’s perfect for this special day. 🎂✨
In addition to baking delicious treats, I've been working on slowing down, saying no to things that don't resonate with my soul, and it's been a godsend for both my and Bella's nervous systems. 🧘♀️💖 So baking has been a sweet weekly activity for us.
Here's a delightful cupcake recipe for you to try that we enjoyed:
Ingredients:
3 cups rolled oats (2.75 cups oat flour)
3 large bananas
0.25 cup Unsweetened Vanilla Almond Milk
1/3 cup maple syrup
2 eggs
2 tsp cinnamon
1/8 teaspoon salt
3/4 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 cup sugar free chocolate chips
Instructions:
Preheat oven to 350F.
Using a food processor, grind 3 cups of old-fashioned rolled oats into fine oat flour. You want 2.75 cups of oat flour, so if you end up short, grind more oats into flour. Make sure the oat flour is very fine (or you can purchase fine oat flour).
In a large bowl, mash bananas with a fork. Then, whisk together maple syrup, eggs, mashed bananas, and unsweetened vanilla almond milk.
Add cinnamon, salt, baking soda, and baking powder to oat flour. Mix to combine evenly.
Next, add the wet mixture to the flour mixture and mix until totally combined. The batter will be a little sticky, and that's okay.
Let the mixture sit for five minutes.
Spray a muffin tin with cooking spray or line with muffin liners and fill each muffin hole 2/3 way full. Fill each muffin with 2-4 chocolate chips.
Bake for 15-18 minutes until an inserted toothpick comes out clean.
Let cool COMPLETELY. Ideally, let cool for a few hours on the counter, then let cool completely in the fridge overnight.
Enjoy these wholesome cupcakes as a delightful snack or treat! 🧁✨

Step into the summer of '19, where curiosity sparked a journey. Scrolling through Insta and Pinterest, I stumbled upon these stunning stems—no clue what they were. On a whim, I scoured stores such as hobby loby, Amazon, and online retailers, hoping to find them.
Disappointment hit when the offerings fell short—too thin, lacking the allure I craved. But instead of giving up, I dove deeper. Thus began my quest for top-notch pampas grass—once I found the high quality pampas grass I was sekking my mission to share its beauty began.
Taking a leap, I posted on Facebook Marketplace, unsure of the response. To my amazement, 600 orders flooded in that first month—a whirlwind of excitement and learning.
This journey has been a rollercoaster, filled with highs and lows. Yet, through it all, I'm grateful for the chance to bring the magic of pampas grass into your homes.
