This bill was filed 2 days ago in North Carolina. They are trying to pass a form of BSL on a statewide level and now also including OTHER breeds besides just "pit bull" type dogs. Please share this around! Please don't comment on this and say "this will never get passed". While I agree that the likelihood of it getting passed is slim, we don't address something like this by turning a blind eye. If you live in North Carolina, stand up for your right to own the type of dog you choose without jumping through hoops to do so! Aggressiveness should be judged on a dog by dog basis, not a breed by breed basis!

Boss is URGENTLY looking for a foster so he can start his heartworm treatment. This poor boy is so sweet and loving and he needs a calm environment to spend 2 months in and get better. Very low maintenance, only needs to go out to do his business. NO exercise during treatment so would do well even if you work a lot. Food and love is all he needs. Help us help Boss! All costs will be covered including crate, food and ALL medical treatment!

During a routine work up at the vet prior to being placed in his foster home, it was discovered that Boss is heartworm positive. Boss is such an amazing dog and we need your help to get him healthy so he can finally have a family of his own like he desires so much. Dogma Foundation had taken a step back from rescuing and had been working with the county shelter as a foster partner due to lack of funding. When we took in Boss, we thought he was healthy and this was not something we were prepared for. Please help us help Boss by donating to his care, any little amount helps! About Boss Meet Boss! A 72lb gentle giant. Boss has spent the last month roaming the neighborhood of an employee at the VCA Palm Beach. Every time he showed up at her house, she would feed him and play with him, then he would disappear for a day or so only to return looking for more food and love. On one occurrence, Boss joined another neighbor and her dog on a bike ride and followed them home. This boy is so desperate for a home that he tried to just blend into someone else’s! The husband of the woman put boss in his truck and drove him around asking everyone if they knew who he belonged to. The answer was the same from every person they came into contact with, they had seen him roaming the neighborhood but no one knew who he belonged to. The man then made flyers and canvassed the whole neighborhood, trying desperately to find who this angel belonged to. But it was to no avail. That’s when Dogma Foundation was contacted. If a home couldn't be found for sweet Boss, the VCA would have be forced to call animal control and have him turned over to them. As many of you know, this is a very high kill shelter, especially for handsome pitties like Boss. We couldn't say no to this angel. Boss is BOTH small and large dog friendly and completely unresponsive to cats. He passed a temperament test with flying colors and a very mellow boy. Please help us help Boss! The only thing he wants in this world is a family to call his own!

We just got the news! Red is officially heartworm negative!! Thank you so very much to everyone who helped us save Red, we couldn't have done it without you! To add to the good news, Red is being ADOPTED!!! Remember our handsome boy Thor that sadly passed away a few months back due to complications with his epilepsy? Well his amazing momma is ready to give her boy Charlie a sister and she is coming down this weekend from St. Pete to scoop up Red! Thank you Jennifer Allan Hagedorn for reaching out to me when Red was just another face in the shelter, Dawn M Servidio-Krueger for transporting this angel to us, Kristen Schulte Cunningham the best vet ever who has now saved 3 lovely pibbles for us, Ashley (her foster mama) for keeping Red calm throughout her treatment and getting Red's big beautiful face out and about when she was done, and Laura Langford for being ready to open your heart and home to this princess! We all love you, Red!!

This morning we got some devastating news. One of our alumni, Thor, passed away last night after have a bad seizure. Thor was gentle, sweet, loving and the biggest dope we ever had the pleasure of knowing. If any sense of solace can be taken from this, it is that in his last few months, he was loved and well taken care of by an AMAZING foster mom who became his forever mom. Thor's mom and fur brother loved him so very very much and both of them, along with all of us at Domga Foundation, are going to miss him deeply. Run free, Thor. We love you.

Faith Update!

Faith has made AMAZING progress since starting her massage therapy a month ago. Faith is one of the most obedient and loving dogs we have ever come into contact with. If you would like to adopt Faith, please inquire within!

Meet Faith. An extremely affectionate, playful pittie girl.

Meet Faith’s past. Rescued from Miami Dade Animal Services, another one of the many former breeding dogs. We believe she spent most if not all of her time inside in a kennel. For this reason, she is still getting used to many outdoor things and isn’t a big fan of small spaces.

Meet Faith’s health. Faith had such a severe case of heartworm disease that her vet had never seen anything quite so bad. She was spayed in such a weakened state that her immune system crashed and she barely made it through her first night. Faith had to be hand fed warm wet food for the first week she was with Dogma. But man did things change fast! Even before starting her heartworm treatment, consistent meals and care caused her to do a 180. She had energy, personality and LOVED to be loved. Treatment was hard on Faith, being a high energy dog, the better she felt the more she wanted to play. Keeping her calm during the 2 months of treatment was a task but she came out of it amazingly! We are proud to say Faith is heartworm negative and healthy as can be.

Meet Faith’s future. Faith would love a home to call her own! She gets along great with low energy dogs but can become agitated around more hyper ones.

Red just got home from her second and third injections of her heartworm treatment. She is doing great aside from some slight discomfort at the injection site. Red is an AMAZING dog and fascinates people every day. Red will be available for adoption in just 1 short month and we are currently accepting applications!

Meet Red. A loving, submissive and "perfect" example of what a pit bull is.

Meet Red's past. A life on concrete, used by a backyard breeder. She has callous' on all 4 of her elbows, callous' on her belly and scars on various parts of her body.

Meet Red's health. Red was not only subjected to a life of mistreatment by her previous "owners", she was denied a monthly tablet that keeps her from contracting heartworm. A completely preventable disease which is transmitted by a mosquito has now plagued her heart with worms, affecting it's ability to do its job, causing effects on not only her heart, but her lungs.

Meet Red's future. Red was rescued (woohoo!). But her journey has just begun. On Monday, August 13th, Red started her heartworm treatment. Injections laced with many chemicals, including arsenic, will be administered. Red just received her second and third injections on September 18th. During this entire period as well as the month after the last injection, Red will be in foster care, under close supervision, keeping all activity to a minimum.

Red is friendly with all dogs and appears to love cats. Her foster has an outdoor cat that adores Red and accompanies them on their morning walk every day. Because her foster must keep her calm, Red has never been allowed to play with the cat but appears to like it and has no prey drive what so ever when she see's it.

Red will be available for adoption once she has completed her heartworm treatment, right around mid October. For more information on Red please contact [email protected]

Mama Red is resting after her first round of heartworm treatment. She just wanted to say thank you for everybody who took from themselves and gave to her.

After a debilitating blow was dealt last night from the voters of Miami we are forced to pick ourselves up and prevail. This morning Mama Red was dropped off at the best Vet in the world for her first heartworm treatment injection.

We want to thank everybody who has supported us both emotionally with prayers and thoughts and of course monetarily as well, we TRULY couldn't do this without you!

We had a GREAT time at the animal adoption event today and met somd awesome people! Unfortunately, on our way out we got some bad news. One of our adoptables, Avery, got into a scuffle with the neighbors cats. Everyone is ok but the neighbor now feels unsafe and Avery's foster respects that so we are in despatate need of a new foster or forever home to keep Avery out of boarding. NO cats and only submissive dogs (preferably pet free) in household. Must be local in south Florida. If you can foster Avery, please contact us ASAP
