The Cat House on the Kings maintained its no-kill status in 2023, according to Best Friends Animal Society’s annual data report. Shelters receiving the no-kill recognition award saved more than 90% of the dogs and cats in their care in calendar year 2023.

Meow! Our calendars are currently soaring through the pre-flight phase, and let me tell you, the proof is absolutely purrfect! To save some precious time, we whisked the job away from another print facility and decided to print them locally, all in support of a fantastic small business.

For all you curious kitties who have been sending us emails, fear not! The calendars will be whisked away to you along with any other orders you've placed. We calculated the shipping as a single order, so everything will be bundled together. We promise to keep you updated as soon as they hit the press and we have a better idea of the ship date. But don't worry, you'll definitely have them in time for your Christmas gift giving extravaganza!

We also want to affirm our love for all those adorable furballs, specifically the four legged variety and Hannah. We hope they have long and happy lives, filled with plenty of treats. We also believe that Hannah deserves to be compensated for her endearing photos and clever reels that generate so many views (so please put in a good word for her during those lives). You, dear Hannah, are the true money maker and you absolutely deserve a paycheck! It has been an absolute pleasure working with you. Happy Monday Fur-iends! Just a quick PSA (paw service announcement) for those waiting on orders. We've had a series of unfortunate events over the past few weeks involving some big falls and very unfortunate accidents for myself, my apparel decorator, and her lovely Miss Kitty.

Let me share the slightly long story with you...

On National Taco day (October 4th, which happens to be my favorite day because I love TACOS!), I found myself chasing after my energetic 3.5-year-old in a busy gas station parking lot. My main goal was to keep her safe from the constant flow of cars coming in and out. Unfortunately, in my haste, I stumbled with quite some speed towards her. To protect her from harm, I had to quickly grab her and twist my body to the side, preventing myself from falling on her. As a result, my hands were occupied, and I couldn't brace my fall properly. I ended up landing hard on both knees, with the added weight of my 45-pound girl. It was quite a severe impact, and even weeks later, I'm still in the process of recovering. My knee caps feel like jelly, and surgery might be necessary in the near future.

To add a funny twist to the story, I was actually on my way to meet my friend and our apparel decorator for some delicious TACOS! I was running late, but thankfully, she waited for me. :) However, the following week, it was her turn to experience some misfortune. She had a bad fall at home, resulting in a massive goose egg on her forehead and black eyes. To make matters worse, she broke her humerus (which was definitely not humorous at all) and her patella. It was quite a traumatic experience that required a trip to the hospital, a week-long stay, and back-to-back surgeries. Finally, she was able to return home last week, but she is still recovering slowly. She's a true champ, but prayers for her recovery are greatly appreciated.

Just when we thought the bad luck was over, Miss Kitty (also known as "Puddy"), her beloved cat, had an unfortunate accident as well. She was hiding under a car and got run over, resulting in a broken leg. Luckily, her family is full of animal lovers, and are taking good care of Miss Kitty. She is resting and recovering well, and she looks pretty in PINK!
