What district do you live in? Redistricting means drawing fair maps that decide which “boundaries” and which groups are represented by the people we elect to office. Politicians didn’t draw fair maps in the past, so in 2018, voters passed a measure to appoint a bipartisan commission— the Michigan Independent Citizens Redistricting Commission (MICRC)—to take control of our redistricting process. @redistrictingmi has approved nine new map versions and one independent district map for public review and to provide input. These maps will help us regain our power to shape our communities and ensure fair representation for all. And you, as a Detroiter, can be engaged in this process. Telling commissioners what you think about the proposed maps is how Detroit interests get represented. You can find meeting schedules and submit comments at michigan.gov/MICRC or call 1-866-627-3247 for information. #ShowUpSpeakUp #MICRC

• Redistricting means drawing fair maps that decide which areas and which groups are represented by the people we elect to office. • In the past, politicians didn’t draw fair maps, so we—the People—took our power back to decide our community boundaries. •Drawing fair district maps directly affects who’s working for us and what happens in our communities. • On Feb. 1, the commission approved 9 versions of a map and an independent map was submitted for the public’s consideration. • The maps were drawn using specific criteria, including population, geography, diversity, partisan fairness, and density. • Telling commissioners what you think about the maps is how Detroit interests get represented. • Find meeting schedules and submit comments at www.Michigan.gov/MICRC or call 1-866-627-3247 (866-MAP-FAIR) for information. #ShowUpSpeakUp
