Opening weekend of dove season was a success with a bonus 278lb pork chop.

Ended turkey season with some color.

Just picked up some 2000lb protein feeders. Had to do a few repairs and slapped a new coat of paint and they are ready to start feeding big bucks. Stay tuned for the first weekend of march work weekend shenanigans.

Had the annual end of deer season duck hunt and like always it didn’t disappoint. Next year we will be opening a select few duck hunts so stay tuned for more information. Tres Lobos has the second biggest water body in Webb county along with its numerous smaller bodies of water. With that much water the ducks showed up in full force.

Danny and Brian did a little last minute clean up at the ranch last weekend. We are having high hopes for the next couple of years and these guys didn’t fit in our plan. Great job guys.

Doubled up
80 degrees in January. They on the move
One of our lease member Skylar Schulz was able to catch these youngsters going at it pretty good the other morning. Love is in the air on the Tres Lobos right now.
Had a group of hens show up this morning for a little while. Also had 2 Tom’s put a show for me.

Well we were finally able to take this slick/sneaky buck we called “turkey foot”. He had another point below that fork that looked like a giant turkey foot but broke it off several days ago. This old buck had been on the hit list all season long and no one could get on him and get it done. Either to far away, smack dab in the middle of a bunch of deer, or would be stopping by numerous feeders and just couldnt pattern him but yesterday he slipped up.

Caroline dropped the hammer on this mature management 8 point last weekend. We are trying hard to manage our herd, so we can take it to the next level of deer quality.

In the last three months we have been blessed with an abundance of rain to help with the severe drought from earlier this year and even though it was a tough year for the deer we have been able to take some really nice low fence deer.
