At Spaceport America’s vertical launch area, teams are in a holding pattern as weather delays launches for the Spaceport America Cup competition. Wind forced some missions to scrub on Thursday, but on Friday morning cloud cover is the main cause, a spokesperson said, although there are occasional gusts this morning as well. A team from UT Dallas said they actually strapped their rocket to the launch rail on the pad as they settled in for a long wait.
