This is what the 141 preliminary proposals submitted to the 2023 BICS Challenge look like. After several intensive rounds of reviewing, we’ve now got our final shortlist. We’ll be announcing the funded projects next month.

BICS officers and staff have been aware over several decades of a persistent theme in information coming from multiple sources, including from alleged non-human entities and also putative sources from the Afterlife. The consensus from these multiple strands of information is that humanity is, and has been for some years, living on borrowed time and that a catastrophic “extinction level event” may be in our near future.

As a part of the BICS Challenge Grants Program and applicable to the wisdom acquisition process, BICS is interested in exploring and researching information obtained from authenticated senior sources on the “Other Side” pertaining to addressing the future viability or non-viability of mankind over the next twenty to thirty years. An important part of this project is to develop methodologies to authenticate and corroborate the information coming from, ideally, senior, evolved sources on the “Other Side.”

The total available funding of up to $1 million will be divided among at least 16 projects. Up to $50,000 will be awarded to 12 projects and up to $100,000 will be awarded to a further 4 projects.

As of November 1, 2021 all BICS essay contest winners, runners up and honorable mentions have been informed that they have won prizes. Because BICS received such a large number of high quality essays an additional category of honorable mention winners has been created. Each honorable mention essay receives $20,000 per essay. The BICS judges worked hard for over 4 months to pick winners from 204 essays submitted from 38 countries.

29 separate essays have won monetary prizes. 1st place winner wins $500,000, 2nd place wins $300,000 and 3rd place wins $150,000. Then 11 runner up receive $50,000 each and a further 15 essays that are honorable mentions win $20,000 each.
BICS will publish all 29 essays on the BICS website in the next two weeks.

The six BICS judges are immersed in judging the 205 essays that BICS received.
On November 1, 2021, the 1st prize essay ($500,000), 2nd prize ($300,000) and third prize ($150,000) winners together with 11 additional winners ($50,000 each) will be announced on the BICS website https://www.bigelowinstitute.org/
