It is not our job to turn our children into people we think others will approve of (fear mentality).
It is our job to love our children so deeply that they experience a deep sense of self worth and trust in their
desires and needs (secure mentality)
It does not protect our children when they feel pushed to conform to what we or others want from them. It errodes the secure base they have with us.
All of our children will experience rejection in their lifetime, but if they feel the love and acceptance of their
true self with us, it won't be nearly as devastating as if they feel rejected by their family.
