This Friday night, it's Madison time. Hit it!

Normally, we teach an Intro to Swing lesson every Friday night at 7:30p at Swingin' at The Mint Tavern, but this is a 5th Friday, so we're takin' it to the left. The Madison is a 1950s line dance that was popular throughout the country (and featured in John Water's 1988 film, Hairspray),

We dance this fun "square dance with a beat" every week at 9p at the Best Friday night vintage dance party in town - now in our 20th year!

You never need a partner to join us, and class is only $10. Plus, you can head on down to The Mint Tavern a bit early and grab a classic cocktail from the bar to help your confidence thought the lesson.

Tomorrow night at The Mint Tavern, Swing Dance Vegas celebrates 19 years as a community! We've been hosting a weekly Friday night Swing dance since April 5, 2005!

Join us for a night of swingin' celebration and help us kick-off our 20th trip around the sun at Swingin' at The Mint Tavern, the BEST Friday night vintage dance party around.

It’s FAST FEET Week at The Swing Dance Vegas Academy! Then at 7:30p, we’re continuing our exploration of the uptempo Southern California Swing dance called Balboa.

Next, on Wednesday, 2/21/24, our own very own Collegiate S**g Champions, Anthony & Megan, take over the Swing Lab at 7p to showcase the vintage dance moves & stylings of the great dancer Connie Wydell (Sham & Megan our featured in the thumbnail of the clip below). This is a ”Beyond Basics” workshop intended for those who are comfortable with their Collegiate S**g basic.

Finally, we end the week by Swingin' at The Mint Tavern with DJ Childish Shambino taking over at 11p for our own version of Fast Feet Friday! Practice everything you learned this week with us late night at The Mint Tavern!

It’s a big week at The Swing Dance Vegas Academy! On Tuesday, we’re starting our new 4-week Vintage Swing Dance Series on the Charleston of the 1920s and the Balboa of the 1930s! Plus, we have Felicia & Nick teaching Tandem Charleston in the Swing Lab on Wednesday.

For our Tuesday classes (both the 6:30p weekly drop-in & the 7:30p series), you never need a partner or experience to join.

Tomorrow, at The Mint Tavern, we're hosting a Beginning Carolina S**g Workshop with the Arizona dancer, Ashley Cohen Conner! From 11:30a-3p, for only $40, we're going to explore the basics of the smoothest Swing dance around, the Carolina S**g - a dance perfect for beach, rhythm & blues, early rock & roll, and soul music.

You do not need a partner or experience to join. Those who are comfortable with Lindy Hop or West Coast Swing will find many of the basic ideas, movements, and stylings taught transferable to your own style.

While you do not technically need experience to join this Swing Lab, the class is aimed at those comfortable in moving around the floor to Swing rhythms.

You do not need a partner or experience to join us for either class.

Join us Tuesday night for our Lindy Hop - 3-Week Beginning Vintage Swing Dance Lessons - No Partner or Experience Necessary - featuring Lindy Hop from the late 1920s (12/5), late 1930s (12/12), and the late 1940s (12/19). We meet every Tuesday at 7:30p at Latin Blendz Dance Academy.

You can take the 3-week series for $40 for the series or $15 per week. If you do pay for the series, you can join our weekly beginning Swing lessons at 6:30p.

Snowden & Purnell were credited with naming the dance we call "Lindy Hop" in 1928 (when "After Seben" was filmed). Here, they show off what the Lindy Hop looked like in the late 1920s. Tonight, learn the basics of the 1930s Swing dance called Collegiate S**g at Latin Blendz Dance Academy, 6:30p-7:30p. Our local Collegiate S**g champions*, Anthony Sham & Megan Hunt, will be showing you the rhythms & techniques you need to succeed on the social dance floor.

The Collegiate S**g is a fun, upbeat partner dance that is perfect for dancing to big band & jazz from the 30's & 40s, early r&b and rock & roll from the 50s, or even modern day Rockabilly music.

*Sham & Megan recently took 3rd place in the "Strictly S**g" contest at Hot Jazz Jamboree. At that same event, Sham won the "Collegiate S**g Mix & Match"!
