It’s Thursday, Rebels! One day away from the weekend! Today’s employee spotlight features Kimberly Jennison. Kimberly is an Academic Eligibility Specialist here at the ASC. As an Academic Eligibility specialist, she ensures student-athletes are on the right track to passing and taking the suitable classes and meeting all the NCAA rules as they progress towards a degree. One piece of advice she gives to her student-athletes is finding balance, “There’s a lot of pressure always, and I try to talk about how you’re going to have ups, and you’re going to have downs. Take those as they are, and don’t let them carry over so much. Balance could be working harder at school, and balance could be taking a step back.” For some of her students, she even mandates “no homework days” because they’re doing too much. Happy Monday, Rebels! Today's student spotlight features Abriana Perez. Abriana is a senior here at UNLV majoring in Pre-professional Biological Sciences. As a Supplemental Instruction (SI) Leader on campus, Abriana works with the students to create many activities to help students grasp the more challenging concepts in statistically more challenging courses that have a high drop, fail, or withdrawal rates. This year she was awarded the UNLV Office of Community Engagement's Student Service Award for her fantastic work with COVID Vaccine Clinics. Over 8 months, Abriana assisted and provided over 15,000 Nevada residents with vaccines!
