I planted these pots at Max’s Gill And Grill restaurant— my home away from home— with the purpose that they can pull them inside for fall and winter, to avoid wasting a bunch of annuals and planting next year.

Sometimes you have to make some changes and updates outdoors...

Checking in on a project from many months ago; growing in nicely! Good color for this time of high summer! Front yard was entirely lawn and a massive pine tree.

I had forgotten how much I love the Hollyhocks in the alleyways of our part of Denver. Something magical about beautiful flowers filling forgotten spaces.

You have already encountered them when lifting a brick or a damp object, you may even have felt disgust, and even wondered what nature was wanting in creating them.
Well, omniscids, are a suborder of terrestrial isopod crustaceans, whose function in evolution is to eliminate heavy metals such as mercury, cadmium and lead, which are extremely harmful to humans, contributing to the cleaning of soil and groundwater. (Don't kill them, don't crush them, pass this along)

‘Mother Trees’ Are Intelligent: They Learn and Remember And ecologist Suzanne Simard says they need our help to survive

For seven years, I've been photographing this beautiful, perfect agave on a route up the rocks in Red Rock. The last few years, I've noticed some of the soil washed out under it, but it was okay. My first trip up that way this year, the unmistakable signs of the beginning of the end. In the next few months, this beautiful agave will elongate the middle spines into a huge stalk, and the plant will die. I am especially sad because this one has no pups to take over and replicate its perfectly symmetrical form. One of a kind. Agave utahensis nevadensis.

This is the magical time of the year that the Sophora blooms, filling the air with the fragrance of purples irises, or, more exactly, Grape Koolaid. I haven't seen the usual bumble bees and carpenter bees on these yet, and I hope they're just a little late. We need all the pollinators we can get.
