On June 18th, Las Vegas Firefighters Local 1285 Honor Guard had the privilege of leading the parade and presenting colors for the @lasvegascarnavalinternacional Carnavale! This annual parade is a multi cultural celebration, bringing together traditions from cultures across the world. The Las Vegas Firefighters' Local 1285's Honor Guard was founded in 1997 and exists to honor those who have made the ultimate sacrifice in order to protect the lives of others. #truckintuesday at firehouse 47. Engine company 47 is ready to roll to any emergency in Summerlin. This valuable fire company proves more important daily with the large and fast residential growth occurring everyday in their growing response area. #truckintuesday with Rescue 41 in Centennial Hills. Rescue 41 covers a very large response area in the Northwest area of our city which means these firefighters can be very far from the closest hospital when transporting the sick and injured patients they come in contact with daily. Early this morning your #lasvegasfirefighters responded to a reported apartment fire in a senior living facility on the East side of our city. Upon arrival smoke and fire was showing from one unit and due to the amount of senior citizens inside the building (many of them needing assistance) this incident went to a 3rd alarm bringing in crews from @northlvfirefighters_local1607 and @clarkcountyfirefighters in order to assist in firefighting and evacuation of residents. Due to the quick and aggressive firefighting by all members there were no injuries in this potentially catastrophic incident.

Today’s #truckintuesday features none other than ‘The Backbone!’ Also known as ILS4. This is an extremely important emergency unit that responds throughout #downtownlasvegas to calls for service that require the immediate assistance of our highly trained firefighters. Responding out of firehouse 4, this very valuable unit allows for our fire engines and ladder trucks to stay available for larger emergencies throughout downtown. Happening Now! Your #lasvegasfirefighters are on scene of a multi-unit apartment fire near Washington and Rainbow. Firefighters made aggressive searches and were able to remove several people from involved apartments before the well involved attic fire grew much larger. Currently our members are in the defensive mode meaning they are attacking the fire from the exterior due to structural members throughout the building being compromised from heavy fire. Not only is this a long and taxing operation but our members are on the second day of a 48 hour work cycle! We thank those from the community who are able to share pictures and videos of our members going to work.

Engine company 4 on scene of a vehicle fire just east of #downtownlasvegas with temperatures around 100 degrees outside, even incidents like this show how important it is for your #lasvegasfirefighters to stay physically fit and hydrated in order to best serve our community. We also appreciate our community members who catch us in action!

#truckintuesday with Rescue 107, protecting the Sun city Summerlin neighborhood of our city. Rescue 107 is one of our newest rescues, which protects a growing area of our city.
