Me as a stylist over the last 14 years. The last two pics are soooooo so old lol. I was a baby. Started at 17. Lied about my age because no one took me seriously. I started In Quebec City and then Montreal before moving to Vegas. Worked on TV sets in Montreal a handful of times. Was heavily bullied at the early stages of my career, cried a lot, made no money, and had no clients in Vegas and the thought of starting over (pre social media) felt defeating. All that combined almost made me walk away from my passion forever. I felt down and unmotivated. You know what motivated me again? Working a job that I hated for a few years. I KNEW I had to do whatever it took to support myself as a hairstylist again. When I started back up again full time, I didn’t get defeated and didn’t let anything get me down, I knew my time was around the corner. I showed up and did whatever it took to get clients on my chair. 9 months. That’s all it took to build my momentum. Now years later, I fully support myself, I own a home, I’m fully booked about 2-4 weeks in advance, educate for an amazing company, get freebies from brands, take myself to nice dinners, spoil my son, and I travel regularly. I don’t say this to show off, but to encourage the new wave of stylists and beauty pros to not give up. Patience And being your own cheerleader is key in this business. I walk into work with pride, and happy everyday. I make women feel empowered and beautiful, I get to have meaningful conversations and build connections, gossip, make my schedule, and I don’t have to take s**t from anyone. I truly love what I do. What a career this has been, none of it possible without my amazing clients and supporters over the years ❤️. Take the chance to believe in yourself, you’ll never regret it.
