One of the most interesting things I've learned is that breast reconstruction wasn't really a thing until about 1970! That wasn't that long ago!
And that breast implants weren't FDA approved until 2006....officially.
I can't imagine the challenges and difficulties breast cancer presents in and of itself.....then the reconstructive surgery presents it's own share of problems and complications that these survivors must contemplate and decide what is best for them.
I am looking forward to not only helping these women improve their appearance and confidence but also gaining the knowledge I need to understand their journey as best I can and truly care for their well-being as a whole person.
