🌳🌸🌿 During the final week of the GROW Olympics, we explored the together. Students split into teams and identified various plants, flowers, & trees to see which team could find the most number of plant species!

The 2024 GROW Olympics continued with a trip Southland Lanes for our bowling tournament. Students competed for their “country” as they sought to win the gold medal in bowling! 🎳 🥇
Our summer cooking club enjoyed preparing 🍓 🍌 smoothies last week!
Thank you for hosting us today for a field trip! We took the scenic route from Millcreek to the Tates Creek branch & had an excellent time learning about the amazing opportunities the library offers our students. Every student checked out one non-fiction & one fiction book to read during our summer program this month! 🌳📚🛣️
ICYMI: Our annual World Culture Night was an exciting evening to be on campus! Our school community came together to celebrate the many cultures that make up Millcreek. There were many foods to try, facts to learn, & experiences to enjoy. Big shoutout to Ms. Hammonds & Ms. Kirilenko for organizing the event & to all the staff and families that came out to make it another memorable evening at Millcreek!
When one year ends, another begins. We spent the month of May preparing for August! Our fifth grade leaders trained some of our fourth graders in various tasks around the school like how to operate our Book Buddy program & how to disseminate transportation rosters each day. Although we are sad to lose many of our amazing fifth graders, we are excited for the incoming fifth graders ready to take on new leadership roles!
Mattie Harris has been named the Millcreek Classified Staff Member of the Year for 2023-24!
If you ever visit Millcreek, it’s hard to miss seeing Ms. Harris in the hallways giving a high five, hug, or offering a helping hand. In the classroom, she is always ensuring our students receive the best education possible. Alongside Mr. Jones, Ms. Harris welcomes all of our Lions into the building each and every morning with a friendly smile! Congratulations to Ms. Harris!!! 😃🦁

Our GROW Academy fifth graders were able to take a tour of Tates Creek Middle School today as they prepare to become next year! We’re grateful for the Commodore Crew eighth graders showing us around and answering all of our questions about what life will be like next year as middle schoolers!
We cannot WAIT to see you at Millcreek on Thursday evening for our annual World Culture Night. Doors will open at 5:45pm! Come out and learn about the many cultures represented at Millcreek and see some amazing work from our students!
We wrapped up an amazing Teacher Appreciation Week with some sweet treats from ! Whether it was ice cream, a banana split, a milkshake, or more, our amazing Millcreek staff enjoyed Mister Softee on Friday!

As our students in Grades 3-5 begin their Kentucky Summative Assessment tomorrow, we look back at our KSA pep rally this past Friday! We will be testing every day until May 17 as our students aim to show all they have learned this year! 🦁🦁
Day 1 of Teacher Appreciation Week was a success! Our outstanding educators received doughnuts from our friends at and then were treated to free coffee from ! It was a great day on our Millcreek Campus as we kick off a fun week to show appreciation to all of our amazing staff 🍩 ☕️

Our Millcreek Girls Who Game Club participated in a celebration at UK today as they completed another successful year! Led by Mr. Ferry, our Girls who Game club exists to prepare our students in the areas of STEM and leadership. We’re very proud of all their hard work throughout the entire school year! Keep gaming!
Last Weekend our Girls on the Run club raced in the UK5K in coordination with as part of ’ race! Our team is led by Ms. Thomas & Ms. Campbell, and the girls met twice a week throughout the spring semester to train in preparation for this event. We are very proud of all the hard work and perseverance our team endured in completion of this 5K!

Ms. Raskin invited members of UK’s Collage Club to come by GROW Academy yesterday & lead an art project with our students! These Art Education majors did an excellent job showing our students how to make creative art 😍🎨🦁
Students were able to spin the wheel at the Millcreek E-Store last month & purchase a special “Lunch Bunch” with Ms. Davis & Mr. Swack outside! These students enjoyed the weather & a relaxed lunch in the ☀️ today
Join us one week from today for our first Entrepreneur Fair! Our fifth graders have been working hard & will have many things to purchase at the fair. It will be from 5:30-7:00pm on Friday, April 12 @ Millcreek! Food trucks & Kona Ice will also be available. See you next Friday!
