MAYANI MONTANEZ finished 3RD in Shot Put with a NEW PR & SCHOOL RECORD of 34’-3.5’ MOLLY CHAMBERS, 4TH 1600m with a NEW PR of 5:21.19 & 6th 800m @ 2:28.08. JACKSON STUART, 5th 300m hurdles with a NEW PR & SCHOOL RECORD, 40.87. RHESE PERRIN finished 14th in the state in the 400m!

Congratulations to Senior Greer Webb on another State tournament run and a historic tennis career!

After Back to Back to Back 42nd District titles, it’s someone else’s turn, as falls last night in the District Semifinals. Congratulations on another great baseball season Spartans!

Once again, summer is almost upon us! That all important time for a little break from the classroom and a chance to have some fun. Before you run off to the pool, let your little
basketball player come down to Sayre and have some fun while learning the greatest game in town at the Sayre Summer Basketball Camp. Your child will get a chance to play games, learn fundamentals and have some fun. Our Coaching staff includes Kentucky Basketball Hall of Famer and former Mr Basketball Charles Thomas, coaching/camp director legend and State Championship coach Jason Nahra, Girls Head Coach Eric Kinder, former All Stater, and current Sayre Boys Coach Brad Carter, and AAU coaching great and current Sayre coach Tony Chism. These coaches along with our current and former players make for some excellent instruction for your future hooper.

🏆 Champions again! Sayre beat Frankfort in the finals of the 11th Region All A Baseball Tournament.
Gary Gibson was the Tournament MVP.
Charlie Slabaugh, Robbie Jenkins, and Charlie Scoggin were named to the All Tournament team. 🏆

Meet Sayre swim coach, Rollie Mills '16 🏊🏾 who has successfully defended his dissertation for a PhD in chemical engineering from the University of Kentucky. 👨🏼🎓

Rollie’s resumé is impressive. To date, he’s authored or co-authored 11 publications. He also holds three patents! 👏👏👏

Dedicated to driving growth and innovation, Rollie also is co-founder of Funky Rooster Coffee ☕ and acting director of Innovate Appalachia.

Sayre will be recognizing the following Spartan athletes as they are inducted into the Sayre Athletic Hall of Fame on February 22, 2024: DeeDee Wheeler ‘18, Ike Lawrence ‘73, Guy Harris ‘72, and Michael Wilson ‘72. Congratulations, Spartans!

It was a great night at the ‘Whit last night as we recognized two very special individuals and one terrific team. Jason Nahra was honored for his 25 years of service, dedication, and loyalty to Sayre, coaching not just basketball but several sports. Jason has had a profound impact on many students who have walked the hallways. Dave Kesling was recognized for keeping the official book for Sayre Boys Basketball for the last 30 years and over 1500 games! Lastly we recognized the 8th grade team, all great kids! On top of all that 8th grade beat DCA and the Varsity Boys beat Williamstown.

WHAT A DAY—-WHAT A TEAM! The basketball Spartans are headed to the ALL-A State tournament 🏆 🏀
