Signing can be an important kind of communication for many people. It can be used by people with hearing impairments or people with a difficulty communicating.

The course "Simplified Signs for Adults with Spoken Language Concerns" provides an overview of Simplified Signs. Simplified Signs is not the same as American Sign Language. It is a system of sign communication for people who cannot master spoken or full language.

This course, based on Simplified Signs: A Manual Sign-Communication System for Special Populations by John D. Bonvillian, Nicole Kissane Lee, Tracy T. Dooley, and Filip T. Loncke, is the culmination of over twenty years of research and development.

Throughout the course, students will review how people benefit from these signs, ways to implement them, and practice signing.
