Celebrating family and freedom at Lima’s Spectacular LIMA — Whether it was running a 5K, catching a fish, admiring a classic American muscle car or listening to patriotic music from the Lima Area Concert Band, this year’s Star-Spangled Spectacular gave area residents the opportunity to come together and celebrate the birth of our nation.

Over 400 runners and walkers take part in the 2023 Freedom 5K Runners and walkers laced up their shoes and got their 4th of July holiday off on the right foot. Over 400 people competed or walked in the 2023 Freedom 5K

Mrs. Joe Lombardo was presented a plaque at the Veterans Car Cruise-in today in recognition of her husbands work in the car community. And Andy Maravola was recognized for his efforts in putting together numerous car shows in the Lima area.

Faurot Park is ready for visitors! Hope we see you on July 4th for the Star Spangled Spectacular! The Freedom 5K starts at 9:00 am., Veterans Appreciation Car Show runs Noon to 4:00 pm. Youth Fishing Derby 1-3 pm., The LACB performs from 8-10 pm. followed by the fireworks. And don't forget, food and drinks will be available!

The Veterans Appreciation Cruise-In is a tradition of the Star Spangled Spectacular, and organizers hope to see even more vehicles this year!

Star-Spangled Spectacular to light up Faurot Park LIMA — The Lima Area Concert Band will cap off this year’s Star Spangled Spectacular again with a fireworks show at Faurot Park.

There will be food and drink available at Faurot Park this July 4th. Here are some of those who plan to attend: Premier Kettle Corn, Rolling Lemonade, Fat Kid Barbeque, Manny's Munchies, The Tamale Guy, Kona Ice, and CJ’s Hot Dog Cart.

We welcome the Friends of Lima to the Star Spangled Spectacular and in particular the Freedom 5K Run/Walk. Members will be helping to keep the runners safe operating water stations, blocking busy intersections along the route and providing refreshments to the participants after the race.
