“If the store looks like this, what does your house look like?!” This question is frequently asked and I wanted to share! It’s similar to the store’s aesthetic in style but a bit toned down. Primarily we surround ourselves with the things we love and we try to bring that same curated feeling to the store. Personally, I love creating levels of depth and richness using antique and vintage items because they have lasted the test of time. I know I won’t have to keep changing things out every few years as fads change (not that there is anything wrong with that! You do you boo!) Our home was recently on the Near South Tour of Homes and someone described it as “Stepping out of Lincoln and into the French Quarter in New Orleans” and that was the nicest compliment I could have gotten! Don’t worry my MCM lovers, we dedicated the attic space in our 1892 Victorian as the MCM hangout. Would you like to see that next?

We had the BIGGEST surprise today when Dr. Ben and Dr. Erin from Heartland Docs stopped into the store. I can honestly say that their show has always been a personal favorite and meeting them was an honor. And yes, they are just as kind as they are on TV!

We have been absolutely inundated with amazing finds lately! A fantastic customer donated this photo album and inside was this photo of two brothers. To the best of our abilities the writing of the back says “Waino and Phitaino Wild Men of Borneo age 60 to 70 Years” can’t wait to do some more research on these two. Their title suggests they were part of the circus. We LOVE history!
