One of the first things many people want to change in a wellness journey is their household cleaners. Laundry soaps and dryer sheets can be so harmful to our bodies! Here is a great dilution hack with Thieves Laundry Soap to save lots of money on all natural laundry soap and switch out dryer sheets for wool balls. It’s absolutely critical that our bodies receive adequate levels of all 8 different forms of Vitamin B on a daily basis. Known as the B-complex, these 8 vitamins activate critical enzymes in our cells that both break down and build the molecules that are essential for life. Without these vitamins, our cells will fail to grow, divide, and differentiate, and the metabolic processes that provide us with a constant source of energy and vitality come to a screeching halt. Vitality Essential Oils ideas (FDA approved for consumption)

Flavored Butter: Add one drop of essential oil to 1 tsp of softened butter.

Flavored Sprays: Combine 1 tbsp of Extra Virgin Olive Oil, 10 drops of your desired essential oil, and filtered water in a 2-ounce food-safe, glass spray bottle. Shake well before each use and spray on food at the end of cooking. Perfect for pasta!

Flavored Kitchen Oils: You get to play around with this one! Grab a 2-ounce food-safe dropper bottle (preferably glass) and fill it with Extra Virgin Olive Oil (or your favorite kitchen oil), leaving room for some essential oil flare. Start with just a few drops of your desired essential oil and add more until you’ve reached the preferred level of flavor.

Flavored Water: Citrus essential oils are a great option for flavoring your water. They’re cold-pressed from the rind so they aren’t hard on your tooth enamel. Plus they’re filled with antioxidants! Start with one drop in a glass of water (remember oils and plastic don’t do well together) and add more if desired.

½ cup Olive Oil

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 shallot, minced

2-3 drops each Lemon and Lime Vitality

Critical nutrition for the immune system and the coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2).

One of the problems facing us as we try to tackle what to do about the coronavirus is the confusion about which supplements we should and should not be taking.

Emerging evidence that high dose vitamin C administered intravenously may improve outcomes in people with overt COVID-19 (which I learned the other day is not the actual name of the virus, but the name of the disease caused by the virus).

There is also evidence that people who have dysbiosis are more likely to die from COVID-19 than people who have excellent, balanced, and diverse gut bacteria.

Former CDC Chief Tom Frieden suggests that Vitamin D may be beneficial in preventing the spread of the coronavirus, and that more than 40% of Americans are deficient in this critical time when we should all be emerging from our winter caves into the sunshine.

Antioxidants, such as those found in elderberry, have been the source of a frenzied amount of debate. Though we know that antioxidants are generally good for us, there is concern that in the setting of COVID-19, they may worsen outcomes, though I don’t know that elderberries have actually been testing in any patient or are we going based on theory.

Yet the published an article stating that none of these supplements are likely to help, and that they may cause harm.

Here’s my thoughts, and they echo what Dr. Fauci said last night : taking the RDA of vitamins and minerals, along with antioxidants from fresh fruits and vegetables, and diverse probiotics and prebiotics has always been good for the immune system.

I agree with him that it is a far better solution than taking medications with serious known side effects and sparse data to suggest that they can actually reduce disease burden.

We don’t have good data to know what will reduce risk of infection or death. Don’t overdose on vitamins and minerals (which is a real thing, especially for fat-soluble vitamins, and metal minerals), and continue to support your immune system.

Let’s press pause on the rush to seek out medications that we don’t fully understand how or if they will work.
