Chris Stapleton, Miranda Lambert - Maggie's Song (ACM Awards 2021) ft. Miranda Lambert 05/09/2022

The last couple of weeks have been hard to say the least.

We are missing Rosie more than words can express. I haven't had a day yet that her memory hasn't rolled down my cheeks.

I picked her remains up at the crematory Wednesday last week. She is back home. When I get the urn I have ordered I will post a pic. It is beautiful just like my girl.

Our home is a different kind of quiet. The only one that seems to be doing ok is her sister, Mitzy, but we have been doing more with her to compensate for the silence and the emptiness she expresses at times, mostly at night. She paces looking for Rosie and at times she whines, a different kind of unrest.

I happened across this song by Chris Stapleton and accompanied on vocals is Miranda Lambert. It is how I feel about Rosie. If you wonder, I believe a dog has a soul too. It may not be a human soul, but a soul all the same.

Rosie saved me at a critical time in my life. I believe God sent her to me. For that I am grateful to God for giving us the extra time we had to be with her giving her best days of her life and mine too. ❤️ 🐾

Thank you for all of your prayers. Rosie's Journey is now over. She passed before we could get her to the vet. She went to sleep and passed quickly. Praise God she isn't suffering with cancer anymore.
Run free my precious girl. We love you and cherished every single day God blessed us with your presence.

Rosie is having a very rough day today. We could use your prayers for strength and any difficult decisions that may be needed to make.
Thanks in advance and God bless you. ❤🐾

Today is a better day!!

A chew on her favorite bone and treat of her favorite biscuit after going outside. She has a better appetite today and interest in chasing the squirrels outside this morning. More pep in her step!!
Thank you for your prayers. Please continue them.

Rosie has had a couple of rough days now. She is getting tired. It's so hard to see your best friend begin to decline. My heart is broken in a million pieces.

We went to her favorite place today to lift her spirits. The lake is her happy and peaceful place. Even though the water was cold she still wanted to go in. She's such a good girl!! I love her so much.

We as humans often say we rescue our pets, but the truth be known they really rescue us.

The coming weeks possibly days are going to be some of the hardest of my life.

Please keep us in your prayers.
I still hope and pray for a miracle healing if God is willing. I know He is able.

Love and appreciate you all! ❤️ 🐾

I follow Buddy and Mike here on Facebook and on Instagram. Mike is an amazing human and advocate for cancer reasearch in canines. He has lost 2 dogs to cancer in recent years.

There are several new studies in cancer research for canine cancers. In recent years there has been an alarming increase in cancer in canines. This is something that needs researched.

We have come so far in canine health in years past with increasing the longevity of our canine best friends, but something has changed. We need to find out what is going on to help them.

03/08/2022

It's been a little bit since I have posted an update on our Rosie. So here we go...

She has been doing pretty well since she had her last chemo treatment in November. Her lymph nodes had remained a normal size for quite awhile. She finished a prednisone prescription in mid January. Toward the end of February her lymph nodes in her neck began to enlarge again. They have continued to grow in size since. The good news is they haven't grown as fast but still growing all the same.

Last night her re**um pr*****ed after a bowel movement that lasted for about 10 minutes. This is not very comfortable for her. This is a sign and symptom that the lymph nodes around and in her re**um are also growing in size. This will not get better if the swelling is not treated. So this prompted me to call Akron MedVet to see if there was something we can do to make Rosie more comfortable as the cancer progresses. They prescribed her prednisone for the swelling and if she begins to have pain, which she has not yet, we have a script for gabapentin.

The good news is Rosie is still eating, drinking, and being sassy. She is in good spirits and not giving up so we cannot give up either.

We are using homeopathic supplements to assist her in her fight.
Turmeric and fish oil for inflammation, cancer fighting mushroom blend supplement for immune support, a whole food diet, and vitamin B17 rich foods, like fully cooked lima beans, apricot and peaches, blueberries, ground flax seed and green kale.

So we are still fighting a good fight for as long as Rosie is able. We continue to pray for God to grant a miracle to her and us. Her purpose here is far greater than you can imagine.

Your prayers are so appreciated and we need them more than anything.
May God bless you for caring about Rosie and her little family.

❤🐾

I wish I could relay good news, but the facts are very apparent. Rosie has had a relapse with the lymphoma that has invaded her body.

On Feb. 4th we were cuddling and as I was petting her I felt the lymph node (the primary site) has enlarged once again. She experienced some digestive upset on one occasion since last week. We are still trying to find a way to help her beat this, but it doesn't seem that it will happen.

I truly believe that healing isn't just for people but also for the lives that matter to humans. Maybe I'm wrong. I hope I'm not. This reoccurance has really hit us rather hard.

I cannot financially afford to get her the chemotherapy she would need to prolong her life. I would if I could. So we are preparing for the end of Rosie's journey. Dear God that's so hard to even write. My heart is so broken at this time.

Please say a prayer for us. Thank you for following us.

We love you!

Love,

Rosie and her family 💚🐾

I found an education and awareness page about lymphoma in canines. If you are a dog person, please read on the higher rates of cancers in dogs just in the last decade. In people too.

For those who are wondering how Rosie is doing, she is doing very well. I declare she is my miracle dog! She is needed here right now and we have been blessed to still have her.

Good afternoon Rosie friends!
We hope all is well with you. Here is a little update on Rosie.
The last chemo we could afford was in November 2021. In December her oncologist started her on paletitive care with a prescription of prednisone.
We also were able to get her off dry kibble altogether and she is eating a slow cooked diet of fresh food. Her sister is on the same diet. We begun some other supplements as well. I cannot say that these supplements will save her, but we have seen some improvements in her overall appearance and energy levels and most importantly no enlarged lymph nodes.
I have also learned some acupressure to help her with stress. She's pretty laid back, but who doesn't like a massage?!
So all in all she is doing better than I thought she would be doing. God can do anything even for a dog. She is more than "just a dog" to me and our family and God cares because he loves us. Have a blessed day! Your continued prayers are appreciated and well received. 💜🐾

Good afternoon Rosie followers!
It's New Year's Eve eve😁
We were at the dog park, AKA "puppy park" yesterday. Rosie and Mitzy had a pretty good time!! We ended the day with homemade pup cups....no bad sweeteners in homemade.
Do you have any resolutions?
Here at Rosie's house we are going to just be better humans to ALL of God's creation.
From our house to yours, we wish you a happy, healthy, and prosperous new year!!
Rosie is still fighting a good fight. It's too bad we couldn't continue her treatments. However, it seems the prayers you are praying are touching the heart of our Creator, who is good and merciful.
God bless you and thank you for your prayers!!
Love,
Rosie and her family. 💜🐾
P.S. For those wondering, Rosie did roll in the puddle...I was expecting it. It's a good thing I keep towels and warm blanket in the car for these moments...lol

Rosie and her family would like to wish you a very Merry Christmas!!
She and Mitzy had a visit from Santa. They both were happy to have received new stuffies. They won't look like this for long...🤣

Hi everyone.
It is with regret that I must cancel Rosie's chemo scheduled for tomorrow Dec. 21st and future treatments as my finances simply won't allow us to continue.
We are going to enjoy the time we have left, which will only be a few short weeks, unless God intervenes.
I want to thank the donors that found it in their hearts to help. Your kindness will be rewarded one day. The funds that were raised will provide a paw print, nice urn, and cremation services for my best friend.
My heartfelt thanks to all that followed our girl's journey to try to defeat this miserable disease. We're really going to miss her. There will be none to replace her. I can't say if there will be any posts that follow this one other than to let you know when she passes. Thank you for caring and God bless.
💜🐾💜

The girls get a little excited as we get close to the dog park. If you don't like hearing dogs bark, turn your volume down a little. This is one of those times when they are just too excited to listen and laid back flies out the window.

We had a good time this morning...
Rosie is scheduled for chemo on Tuesday, Dec. 21st. It will probably be her last treatment because the funds are depleted.

I still hope and pray for a miracle.
Enjoy Rosie's and her sister Mitzy's excitement in this video.

Love you all!! 💜🐾

Niagara Falls to be lit in honour of local internet sensation Buddy the dog 12/14/2021

This article is about a page I follow on Facebook and Instagram. It's called "Buddyand Mike".
Niagra Falls, Canada gets it, there is a problem that has been developing over the last decade or so with canine cancers.

Mike is using his social media platforms to raise awareness to the increase in canine cancers and to cause more research into the recent uptick.

It's a good article and Buddy was a good boy. He was 5.

The thought occurred to me that some that view Rosie's Journey may believe she isn't sick and I am fund raising for her out of being dishonest. I know I am not, but it is difficult to trust these days.

She doesn't appear to be sick in the videos and photos I post because she is a fighter and responding very well to treatments.

So to ease the minds of doubters I have posted Rosie's last encounter form and billing statement. The only thing that is blocked out is my home address, phone numbers, and patient ID. Please note the dates match on both forms. She will need 3 more treatments to complete this sequence at that cost on the bill (just shy of $4,000). Not including the cost of the blood draws that occur at our local veterinarian and medications. Currently Rosie has 7 different medications she needs to maintain her health. Some are prescriptions and others are supplements recommended by Dr. Bloch.

I want you to try to understand and put yourself in my position. Would you do everything you could to save your friend and continue the best quality of life possible? Rosie is my best friend and no one will know before me when she is tired. At that time I will let her go. I would also like to mention, the side effects Rosie has experienced have not lasted more than a couple of days after treatment except for the skin irritation after the first Tanovea injection. That has dissipated after the adjustment in Tanovea dosage.. She is a strong girl and I hope she is demonstrating the strength that is needed to fight against this awful disease and giving others hope.

I also want to mention there are ongoing studies in canine cancer research. If you own a dog, there is a higher chance your dog may develop some type of cancer even at a very young age. No one can explain the recent uptick in cancer development in canines just in the last decade.

What I am saying is, you may be in the same position one day. Would you want to contribute to research and help other people with their pups to find a cause for the rise in canine cancer and treatments that may lead to a cure? Remember that canine cancers often behave in the same manner as in humans.

Please consider a donation to help me extend Rosie's life. The go fund me link is just below this post. Her case, like many others will go into statistical studies to improve treatments and hopefully find a cure someday.

Thank you for reading to the end.

Have a great and blessed day!

Love,

Me, Rosie and our family 💜💚🐾

Help Rosie Beat Lymphoma and be a Survivor, organized by Tina Cunningham 12/06/2021

Hi all Rosie followers!

It took me a long time to get the courage to ask for help. Pride is very hard to overcome, but I managed. Some of you had asked me to put a Go Fund Me fundraiser together so you could offer your help to us. So, I finally got it finished. Lots of tears and a lot humility went into this so please give it a read. The target amount I put on there really doesn't cover the cost of treatment. Follow the link provided to get to the fundraiser.

These things don't work unless they get shared so please share the crap out it. Instagram, Facebook, whatever. Please. I am desperate at this point. Love you all and thank you in advance. God Bless you!!

Love,

Rosie and me 🐾❤️

Help me wish Rosie a Happy 7th Birthday!!

We didn't do too much because lately she gets very overheated when she plays too hard and takes her a very long time to cool back down. A side effect of chemo.

We had a pretty fun day though. She got a new stuffy (a duck) that I should have taken a picture of before giving it to her because the stuffins are now all over the living room. We played in the snow early this morning but not too hard so she didn't get overheated.

I have been trying to put a gofundme account together for her, but it's very humbling for me. I have always been on the other side of the helping table. I will get it done though. Her life depends on it because I just don't have the money anymore. Job after job has never manifested. Life is just hard and full of hard choices we don't want to make. Then living with the heartache of those decisions.

As always, we thank you for your prayers and well wishes.

Love,
Rosie and her family 🐾❤

As I mentioned in my last post Rosie has come out of remission as we thought. We had an aspirate done on her visit to MedVet Akron on Oct. 29, 2021 that confirmed cancer growth in the original primary site of the lymph node under her left jaw.

I was then informed of several options available for cancer reoccurances. Most are incredibly expensive. We were considering palliative care until Rosie's quality of life began to decrease and ultimately would need to euthanize.

Rosie isn't giving up yet therefore, we can't. We just can't.

That being said, after talking with her oncologist, who is incredible, we decided to try one more time with a very effective drug that works well on the type of cancer Rosie's body has been invaded by. Rosie loves her oncologist and so do we.

The drug is called Tanovea. Rosie received her first out of 5 doses on Nov. 8, 2021. Tanovea can cause some side effects. Rosie has been experiencing some of those, but not to an extent that she is uncomfortable or having a reduced quality of her life. She is still active, eating (even the garbage 🙄), and drinking as normal. We have medications at home to help reduce these side effects to make her more comfortable.

I talked with a technician at MedVet today to let them know how Rosie is responding. We discussed an adjustment to the dosage level of her chemo to minimize the side effects Rosie is experiencing.

Rosie's next appointment is on Nov. 30, 2021. The good news is the cancer seems to be responding to the chemo with visible signs of reduced size of her lymph nodes.

Ya know, sometimes life really punches you in the gut. This is one of those times for our family. Things really couldn't be more difficult at the present time, but it is often necessary to step off the ledge in faith when you cannot see whether there is a pathway beneath you. That is so scary!! I have no idea what the outcome is going to be for our little family, but I do know Jesus is there to catch us.
I pray for a miracle everyday, but all that miracle business is up to God. I believe God is more than capable.

In closing to this very long post, we thank those of you that pray for your prayers. They are truly felt and appreciated more than you know.

I hope you find this video of Rosie and Mitzy playing this morning at the dog park as joyful as I did. Thanks for reading until the end. ❤

God bless you!!

Love,
Rosie and family ❤🐾

This video was taken a couple of days ago. Rosie had the best time!! Mitzy thought she was crazy and I enjoyed them both. ❤

As stated on my last post, Rosie has some swelling in her lymph nodes. Her oncologist believes this is a sign that Rosie has come out of remission. 💔😭

There are treatments available for reoccurances of lymphoma in canines. They are extremely expensive and really only buy a little more time. After a reoccurance, the chances of achieving remission again are 50/50. The likelihood that Rosie will be cured is very low. Unless of course, God is willing to give us a miracle. I know God is able.

We did have an aspiration performed yesterday to see if the swelling is due to lymphoma or possibly just an infection. We will have those results early next week.

I haven't given up hope. All of my hope is in Jesus. Even if the answer to my prayers and yours is no.

However, my wallet has been exhausted and I won't be able to provide any additional chemotherapy treatments, unless of course, God intervenes. I do believe He does when it is for the greater good and to bring glory to his name.

So, we wait for the test results and pray that God sees how much our girl is needed and loved and maybe, just maybe she will get the chance to continue to protect and love on her family as God created her to do.

Your continued prayers are appreciated and felt, I promise!

The next few days are going to be hard for me, my son, Rosie, and Mitzy too (they know somehow things aren't as they should be) as we wait for those test results.

Rosie will be 7 on November 28th. I pray she gets to see it. 🙏🏻

We want to thank you for reading our post. It was very difficult to write. We love you all.

As always, may God bless you as He has us. We cherish each day good or bad.

Love,

Rosie and her family ❤🐾

Rosie has a visit for a checkup scheduled for Friday, October 29th at MedVet Akron.

The hardest part about cancer remission is wondering how long it will last.

I'm by far not a veterinarian or even a veterinary technician, but where the first sign of the lymphoma that attacked Rosie's body, is slightly swollen.

Our pets in our house have all had a virus over the last couple of weeks and recovering fine. I am hoping that is the case and NOT the cancer coming out of remission. Rosie has low immunity because of the treatment she has received for the bloodborn cancer that invaded her body. In other words, she has an immunodeficiency.

A prayer or two would be so very appreciated!

Unfortunately, I cannot afford another round of chemotherapy. That's the part that hurts my heart.

Thanks in advance for your continued prayers. May God bless you today as He has us.

Love,

Rosie and me ❤🐾

Good afternoon Rosie fans!!

Today, Rosie went to Akron MedVet early this morning for her first post chemo check-up.

Her oncologist, Dr. Bloch-Miles, spoke to me directly this morning and gave us very good news. She said that Rosie looks great and her blood work came back very good. All of her counts were wonderful, including calcium counts!!🎉
We are still waiting for her urinalysis to come back from the lab.
Dr. Bloch-Miles doesn't think there will be any issues.

We want to thank each of you for your continued prayers. It is evident they are working!!

We praised Jesus today with some happy tears, humility, and thanksgiving.

May God continue to bless you!

Thank you to all!!

Love,

Me and Rosie ❤🐾

September 15th is lymphoma awareness day.

The most notable symptom in the canine species is swollen or enlarged lymph nodes along the mandible or jaw line. Other symptoms include; loss of appetite, lethargy, weight loss, swelling of the face or extremities (edema), and occasionally increased thirst and urination.

Rosie also presented with diarrhea that was not controllable with medication. She also had re**al prolapse due to the extended period of diarrhea and came to find swollen polyps in her re**um, a sign that the cancer had spread throughout her body.

One of the most fascinating thing about this information is humans often exhibit the same signs and symptoms, with only a few differences. It is not known if canine experiences the following simply because they cannot tell us.
Headache, bone pain, excessive perspiration, breathlessness, skin irritations, and persistent fever.

Naturally, we can observe that canine may have skin irritations by the action of scratching, but how often do we assume it must be fleas? And how often do we check to see if canine has a fever or able to determine if it is persistent?

The best way to stay aware of signs and symptoms is to observe your canine and be aware of your own body. Eventhough, lymphoma does not have a cure. However, remission is possible extending the quality of life in both human and canine. The key is early detection and beginning treatment as soon as possible.

Thanks for reading our post today and be thankful for the blessings you have in your life! May God bless and keep you!!

Good afternoon Rosie fans!!

We are proud to announce that Rosie has completed 4 rounds of chemotherapy and is still in remission!! 🙌❤🙌

We want to thank everyone at Akron MedVet and Lisbon Veterinary Clinic for being such an AWESOME care team. Without you and God above Rosie wouldn't be here with us today. God bless each of you!!

Rosie will be monitored closely for the next 12 months returning to Akron MedVet's oncology department once a month for physical exams, CBCs, chemistry panels, and urinalysis screenings.

We humbly ask you to keep her and her family in your prayers. At this moment she is our miracle! Praise God!!

Attached are some photos from her last treatment today. The team at Akron MedVet gave her some balloons and a new cool bandana!

Thank you all so much! Keep an eye out for future posts and updates as Rosie continues to fulfill her purpose in our lives as God sees fit. ❤🐾

Good afternoon Rosie fans!!

On Monday Rosie had blood work drawn and her CBC was good so she went to her chemo appointment Wednesday and continued her CHOP protocol.

Her chemo appointment went very well yesterday!! She is in what her oncologist described as complete remission! 99.9% cancer free!!! Awesome Sauce kind of news!! We are elated!

We owe all this wonderful news to our ultimate Healer! 🙌
We are so grateful to be permitted to have Rosie in our lives for a little longer...I mean let's face it, dogs just don't get to live long enough!

Rosie has one more chemo treatment next week that will complete all 4 rounds which is the recommended protocol in treating canine lymphoma.

As we got ready to leave her oncologist Wednesday, a teary eyed vet technician brought Rosie to the car to go home. She was happy that Rosie has had such success in treatment and sad that next week is her last therapy appointment. Rosie has a way of impacting people with her incredible personality, veterinarians and vet technicians are not excluded. All of the staff there love her. I do believe Rosie loves them too. When it's time to go I tell her we are going to see the girls and she's ready to go.

Please continue your wonderful prayers that God above has been so graceful to answer. Without our prayers and God guiding Rosie's care team she would have crossed the Rainbow Bridge months ago. So thank you first to God and second to you! May God bless your day with awaited good news and blessings!! ❤🐾

Rosie's weekly update...

I'll keep this short.

The CBC from Monday came back unremarkable. Her counts were good. So, she went yesterday for her oral chemo drug. Lots of exercise, more regular potty breaks (less sleep for me), and lots of fresh water is needed after the administration of this oral drug.

She is doing very well and in complete remission!! Praise Jesus!!

This was the second chemo treatment of round 4. She has 2 more treatments left and then we will ring the bell! 🔔

She will not be participating in the immunotherapy program at this time because she went into remission so quickly. However, there are homeopathic methods for immunotherapy we will continue with after chemo. (Turkey tail mushroom)

This photo was taken after our long ride and walk yesterday. We were all exhausted.

Your continued prayers are appreciated and we'll received.
May God continue to bless you in the healing way as he has done for us! ❤🐾

Update on today's oncologist visit.

What a stressful day!!

As from the post from earlier today, we were concerned that cancer had raised its ugly head again because of the symptoms Rosie was exhibiting.

Great news though!! Rosie's visit to the oncologist went very well.

Cancer is still in remission!!

Praise God!!

She was basically diagnosed with an upset tummy and given some medication to help her feel better on top of her scheduled chemotherapy (Vincristine today). She received an anti-nausea medication that makes her very tired. She is resting comfortably in her thunder-shirt.

Those of you in NE and NW Ohio know the storms that rolled through this morning. Both of my girls do NOT like thunderstorms and it was a very stressful car ride home from MedVet today. We were nearly in an accident because of a tree that fell across both lanes of the road we were traveling on. The box truck in front of was nearly crushed Praise God he was able to stop just in the nick of time and so was I.

I want to thank you all for your positive thoughts and prayers today. They were definitely heard and answered today in more than one way. God bless each of you! May your day be filled with great blessings as ours was! ❤🐾

08/11/2021

Good morning!

Rosie has a scheduled appointment this morning for chemo. She had a week break last week and 2 CBC's that came back good.

However, this morning around 3AM she woke me up to go outside and she has diarrhea and vomiting. Her temperature is 102.6. The vet has told me that a temperature of 103 or higher is a cause for concern. Normal canine temperature 99.0 - 101.0.

The picture below was taken last night before bed after playing with her favorite toy AKA "cat toy".

Those of you that pray, an extra prayer today would be very appreciated that the cancer has not come out of remission and causing all of these symptoms. She has been doing so well. Positive vibes are appreciated too.

I will post an update after her oncology appointment today.

Thanks in advance and may God bless you today! Your prayers are always heard and well received. ❤🐾
