If you come, don't forget to take a picture with the backdrop that our SOS members have been working SO hard on!
Last week, SOS members went into classrooms across the school to raise awareness about our zen den in pupil services! Our zen den is a calming space that any student in our building can visit to regulate emotions and receive counseling if needed. Way to go peer leaders!
LCMS Sources of Strength Updates:
• One of the SOS committees has been leading a healthy lunch initiative each Friday all year. If students choose healthy food options at lunch, they could be rewarded!
• SOS members say uplifting quotes on behalf of LCMS Sources of Strength every Wednesday on the announcements.
• SOS members are going to be going into classrooms the next couple of weeks to highlight our zen den in pupil services, a place in pupil services for students to quickly self regulate if they become upset during the school day.
• Some SOS members attended a Green Bay Packers event called Empower that highlighted the importance of leadership, mental health, and service to our communities! They attended a workshop on leadership and teamwork, helped package over 12,000 meals for families in need, and were able to your Lambeau field!
On behalf of LCMS SOS, GO PACK GO! Enjoy some healthy activities this weekend with friends and familyđź’šđź’›
Sources of Strength peer leaders are hard at work for random notes of kindness on National Kindness Day. They are AMAZING!
And we’re BACK! The middle school sources of strength peer leaders had their annual training last Thursday and are ready to roll out some AWESOME school wide campaigns this year. Check back here for the great things they plan on doing this school year!
Our SOS peer members are celebrating our year by taking a stroll and eating lunch at Culver’s! Here’s to next year, good luck in high school 8th graders!
Our pet wall is up! Here are some little snippets of our pets and how they add so much value to our lives! If you are in our building feel free to take a look. Our pet wall is located in between the 5th grade wing and Flex academy near our lunch room. (If you look close enough you may just see Dex!)

We have some fun SOS activities to end our year strong! Be on the lookout this week for our pet wall. Our Sources of Strength Committees are working hard to create a wall of pets that were submitted by students and staff. We encourage you to stop and take a look once we are done, because our pets can be a huge source of strength as most are considered family. You might even see our own mascot Dex on the wall!
Also, watch for a post later this week for more information regarding our upcoming school dance for grades 6-8 in Little Chute Intermediate, Flex, and St. John's.
Our Sources of Strength peer leaders had the opportunity to attend a leadership training with student leaders at other schools at CESA6 with their CEO Ted Neitzke. Students named characteristics of leaders and named some leaders in their own lives that have influenced them positively (peep the Little Chute teachers and staff that our students wanted to shout out!) Our peer leaders learned about the significance of the buffalo- running to the storm instead of away, how to make a “180” on a bad day, and leading where our feet are. They said their biggest takeaway was “zero-zero,” meaning starting every day as a fresh start and growth mindset. No matter what game we are currently playing in our lives or any hardships that we have, our attitudes can be at 0-0!!
March Madness is upon us and we thought an update on how our lunch March Madness is going would be fitting! Today it’s Mrs. Vandenberg with chimichangas against Mr. Krueger with pork sandwiches. The winner will head up against Mr. Appleton. While creating brackets and watching some basketball this month can be a healthy activity, it can be tough when our favorite teams lose and our brackets don’t end up the way we wanted. Our SOS social media committee suggested we lean on our other sources of strength which could be positive friends or family support, especially when things don’t go our way. Stay tuned for more Lunch March Madness as it is certainly a healthy activity to follow along and enjoy with others!
The intermediate and middle school was able to watch their peers perform "Guys and Dolls Jr." yesterday. Watching or performing in musicals and plays are great examples of healthy activities, highlighted on our SOS wheel. Don't forget to see the show! Information is below.
March 9-10; 7pm
Adults $10
Children/Students/Seniors $7

An uplifting message for your Friday! Have a great weekend!
“For every time darkness falls the sun has a promise to rise” one of our sources of strength committees worked super hard to make this inspiration mural displayed near our 5th and 6th grade wing. If you are in our building please take a look! What’s your inspiration?
Wishing you all a safe and fulfilling holiday season! See you all in the new year!
We wanted to highlight Generosity from our Sources of Strength wheel. Not only is Generosity a great part of the wheel to strengthen all year long, but we’d like to talk about its importance during this holiday season. Generosity can make others smile, but also makes you feel better to help others. Generosity doesn’t take a big gesture but can be a small donation (money, food, time, etc.), a kind message, a hug or a smile, or a listening ear for an individual in need. Let’s focus on improving our Generosity, the true meaning of the holiday season!
Our sources of strength social media committee wanted to share their own sources of strength! They enjoy spending time with their friends, while also being active. Here are some ideas they believe will help improve YOUR mental health: stay active (play sports), be social (spend time with your loved ones), find a healthy hobby (like listening to music), talk to someone (especially when you are feeling down).
Happy thanksgiving from the LC Middle School SOS Team! Take some time to share your gratitude with the ones you love❤️
These trees represent the SOS wheel. Each leaf, made by our middle school students, represents one of their strengths. Two of our students on our social media committee are very proud of their work! (Don’t forget to follow us on Instagram: lcmssources)
