DO NOT FORGET this is Arkansas Work Zone Awareness Week! This week is dedicated to the education of the public on the vulnerabilities of both workers and drivers within a work zone. In 2021, the number of reported work zone crashes reached 2,100 with 16 fatalities.

When traveling through a work zone you should always be thinking several steps ahead. Minimize distractions, look out for workers, check your speed, be careful around large vehicles, be prepared for sudden stops, read the signs, and do your part so everyone can make it home safely at the end of the day. Also, keep in mind that all traffic violation fines in work zones are automatically doubled!

The Junction Bridge, Main Street Bridge, Clinton Presidential Park Bridge, Big Dam Bridge, Two Rivers Park Bridge, Union Plaza Building, and Simmons Bank Building in Little Rock and the Arkansas Heart Hospital in Saline County all will be lit orange in observance of National Work Zone Awareness Week.

New year with many new and existing projects on the horizon!

First on the list is the newest Manhattan Road & Bridge Company office building located at Industry Drive & Faulkner Lake Rd in North Little Rock directly across I-440 from the Caterpillar manufacturing plant. Rogers James A Excavating is on site and moving A LOT of dirt to get it prepped, and I'm very excited to be able to work with them on this!

Manhattan Road & Bridge provides bridge, roadway, and heavy infrastructure construction services such as bridge repair, pile driving, sheet piling, pipe piling, and concrete piling throughout Oklahoma, Florida, Arkansas, and Texas. A few of their local projects include the I-630 widening, Big Rock Interchange, and the McCain Blvd turn-around overpass. More updates to come!

Next Generation Takes Arkansas' Rogers Excavating to New Heights Chris Meyer has doubled revenue at James A. Rogers Excavating since buying the company and has also found a simple way to train young workers.

Just a few awesome projects I have lined up for the coming months, with many more to come!

Here's another new project I'll have the pleasure of working with Rogers James A Excavating on in North Little Rock! Located at the VA Fort Roots Hospital, this soon-to-be 11,600 square foot building will be the new dining facility for the Law Enforcement Training Center. We're all excited to watch the progress!

Construction updates for the Relyance Bank headquarters and TownePlace Suites by Marriott in White Hall, AR! Both located along Sheridan Rd./Hwy 270 near I530.

The new 40,000-square-foot, three-story Relyance Bank will have about 100 employees to start, occupying about 70% of the building. It will feature a pod-type design on the first floor that's universal to the banking world, along with interactive teller machines. It will also house loan and credit offices, and a call center operation. The second floor will provide ample space for the trust and wealth management offices, and human resources, while a boardroom and executive offices will be on the top floor.

The four story, 80 room TownePlace Suites by Marriott will be designed for more extended stay travelers with suite-style rooms and full kitchens. It is expected to be operational by late spring or early summer of 2022.

White Hall’s newest dog park is only a few weeks away from opening! Located inside the City Park next to the skate park, this quarter-acre dog park will offer owners and their pets two off-leash options for both larger and smaller canines. Both areas have escape-proof sally port entrances and exits, and each will also have a pavilion providing visitors a shaded place to sit and watch their dogs play. The concrete pads have already been poured and the support beams are in place that will support the pavilion's covering. About a dozen parking spaces and an extended walking path will be available as well.

I'm very excited to have the opportunity to work with Rogers James A Excavating on the newest Bancorp South regional headquarters located in West Little Rock at Chenal Pkwy and Rahling Rd! I will be capturing all of their progress as they work on the four-story, 40,000ft² building, which will house the company's BXS Insurance affiliate and a full-service bank branch with commercial lending, wealth management, and mortgage operations.

Early morning sunrise over Mayflower, AR with Sawyer West and his crew at West Logging, LLC! They’re making great progress as they continue to clear and process timber for the construction of a new overpass that will span I40 and the Union Pacific Railroad.

Very excited to be working alongside Sawyer West and his company West Logging, LLC as they work to clear and process timber along the I40 right-of-way in Mayflower, AR! This is in preparation for the construction of a new overpass in the near future. A lot of great pictures and videos will be coming soon of his awesome crew and new equipment!

This project will focus on the construction of a new overpass that will span I-40 and the Union Pacific Railroad (UPRR). It will also involve relocating a segment of Highway 89 on the west side of I-40 in order to improve safety, eliminate delays, and better facilitate the flow of traffic through the Mayflower area. The new overpass will be constructed west of the existing I-40 interchange, and provide a new route from the overpass to the intersection of Highway 89 and Billy Drive. The new railroad overpass will provide four 11-foot-wide travel lanes, a single 12-foot-wide dedicated center lane, an 11-foot-wide right turn lane, and a pedestrian walkway.

ARDOT will acquire 45.9 acres of right-of-way spanning 1.5 miles to complete this project. Total construction cost is estimated to be $18.6 million. Highway 89 east of I40 will be widened under a separate project at a later date.

(4/14/21) — A lot of progress is being made on what will be the new Relyance Bank headquarters in White Hall, AR! The new 40,000sqft 3-story facility will span across 7 acres and will be located on Hwy 270/Sheridan Rd just west of I530. The new location is positioned “to better serve southeast and central Arkansas while reaffirming its economic development and community service commitment to Pine Bluff, White Hall and Jefferson County, and remaining “deeply rooted” in that county.” It will house management as well as consolidate various other departments.

Expected completion is Spring of 2022!
