First piece to find its forever home in 2024. This little painting (that holds a special place in my heart) just came down from a juried show in Brooklyn and went off to its new home. 🖤

I heard that the 2024 Pantone Color of the Year was so I did a deep dive into the archives to find my peachiest pieces. 🍑 Apparently I’m a fan of the color already.

I have really been loving doing these sweet little commissions for these sweet little families! You could say that I am really in the thick of it in terms of parenting right now with my two littles and these types of pieces are really speaking my language at this time in my life. Something a bit different. Found out this little painting of my biggest cub and me will soon be traveling to Brooklyn after being chosen to be in a juried exhibition. While this piece, 𝘗𝘳𝘰𝘶𝘥 𝘔𝘢𝘳𝘺, is not exactly a portrait of Tina, she was definitely in my thoughts when I was painting it and thinking of a title. What a fierce woman who rose to be such an icon against all odds. Thank you for your art Tina, and rest in peace.

Next up, 𝘉𝘢𝘵𝘩𝘵𝘪𝘮𝘦 𝘙𝘰𝘶𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘦, 𝘚𝘵𝘦𝘱 1, 33w x 34h x 3d inches, concrete, acrylic, ink, watercolor, resin, on shaped multilayered panels. One thing I did not anticipate before becoming a parent is the omnipresence of routines and how they mess with your sense of time. Still trying to grasp how time passes these days both rapidly and sluggishly…simultaneously. 𝘖𝘰𝘩 𝘊𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘥 closes tomorrow!

Next up from my 𝘖𝘰𝘩 𝘊𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘥 solo exhibit are these little’uns. I did 6 small ink paintings of some moments - some funny, some difficult, some sweet but all honest in their depiction of my experience in motherhood. 1. 𝘕𝘰𝘴𝘦-𝘱𝘪𝘤𝘬𝘦𝘳 2. 𝘐𝘵’𝘴 𝘍𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘖𝘶𝘵 𝘈𝘯𝘺𝘸𝘢𝘺 3. 𝘉𝘦𝘥𝘵𝘪𝘮𝘦 𝘙𝘰𝘶𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘦, 𝘚𝘵𝘦𝘱 1 4. 𝘚𝘪𝘤𝘬 𝘋𝘢𝘺 5. 𝘓𝘦𝘵’𝘴 𝘛𝘢𝘬𝘦 𝘈 𝘗𝘪𝘤𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘦 6. 𝘒𝘪𝘴𝘴 I’m curious - any others out there experience a nose-picker during nursing sessions? 😂 Little one is also a teeth scratcher. 🦷 Show closes Friday at the Laman Library, Argenta Branch.

My solo exhibition, 𝘖𝘰𝘩 𝘊𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘥, at the Argenta Public Library closes Friday! In the last few days of the show I’ll be highlighting some of the pieces in the exhibit. This body of work was very personal, challenging, and important for me to make at this time in my life. My hope is that caregivers and especially new parents find connection and solidarity in the pieces. First one up is 𝘉𝘦 𝘌𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘺𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘈𝘵 𝘈𝘭𝘭 𝘔𝘰𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘴, 28w x 38h x 3d inches, concrete, acrylic, and resin on shaped multilayered panels. Lovingly called “the pizza one”.
