We’re partnering with Rotary Club of Little Rock once again and hosting a supplies drive at all of our Central AR locations!

We’ll be collecting supplies starting today, July 25th through August 5th. All supplies will be donated to Central Arkansas students in need!

We are so thankful to be able to continuously give back to our communities.

We are thankful to report that our Rogers location experienced minimal damage in this weekends string of tornadoes across Northwest Arkansas.

We are standing strong with our friends, neighbors, and first responders in NWA. To show our gratitude and appreciation, we’re offering free meals to any first responder in uniform at our Rogers location from now until Friday.

We are open, and we have electricity.

One year ago, we were uncertain of a lot of things. We were still cleaning up rubble from the tornado, and numb from the loss of our Vice President and friend, Karla Coffman. The nomination for this award exemplifies the resilience of our team and the community that supported us through it all.

Our Story

In 2008, I was 24 years old, returning home (to chase my future wife) from a short career in finance in the big city of Dallas. Friends and family would ask, “What do you plan to do now?” They would always raise an eyebrow when I replied: “I’m gonna sell catfish on the side of the road.” With no money in-hand, I took my plans for a side-of-the-road catfish business and asked a good friend, at a local bank, for $30,000 to purchase a used food trailer. Looking back, I always think, “I probably wouldn’t have given me the money!” I took that loan and bought my little food trailer, with no truck to pull it, and no AC, in the middle of a hot Arkansas summer. I set up shop on Military road and my first day I sold out of catfish in under an hour! (What no one knew at the time was I’d never cooked catfish before in my life!)

Over the next three and half years the food trailer became a local favorite among the folks of Benton. Not too long after, I opened a brick-and-mortar restaurant, right across the road from my original trailer. A simple, 60 seat restaurant, where our loyal food truck customers had a cozy place to join our new guests. Just a year later, we expanded to Conway. In 2016 we decided to start selling catfish in the big city of Little Rock, followed by NLR in the spring of 2018, all the while catering to all of Arkansas in the original trailer I used on my very first day. There’s no way I would be where I am today without my friends and family. My mom has cooked countless nights, my dad has built every store, and they’ve always encouraged me to chase my dreams. I grew up on a multi-generational farm in East End. We had cattle and big gardens. MawMaw made plate dinners every night, and every Friday we had a catfish fry. Everybody thinks their grandma was the best cook, but I’m here to tell you, my MawMaw holds that title, as the stores still use her recipes every day.

I’m thankful to my family for instilling in me the importance of hard work, good food, and respecting everyone – treating them like family. Now with two girls of my own, our traditions have reached another generation. From the booths you sit in, to the fishing pictures on the walls, and MawMaw’s recipes, my family is ingrained throughout. These family values are who we are as a company. They’re the foundation of our culture, as we strive to develop the next leaders of our communities.

What began with a single case of fish and a sack of crawfish has grown Eat My Catfish into the largest provider of its kind in the state. My calm days in the food truck have been replaced with lively nights in the restaurant, followed by bath time and bed-time stories with a family of my own Through it all, I always have time to chat with you, my valued guests – old and new. We are humbled by your support, inspired by your interest, and consider you our best catch ever!
