Mariposa Studio
Fine Art Photography for people and pets. We create custom photographic art for our clients' homes that captures the beauty and joy of life.
At Mariposa Studio, we provide the ultimate in a luxury photographic experience for Arkansas and the surrounding states. Photography shouldn't be about clothes, or props. It shouldn't be about what the photographer wants to add to her portfolio, or the idea we've been dying to try, or our "top secret" special location that we've scouted. We do these things -- but that's not what drives our work. P
This sweet baby (Boone) came to the studio this week to play! What fun we had!
My office today. My dog is enjoying herself!
Meet Vetr!!!
This sweet Boy has graduated from the Arkansas Paws in Prison Training Program and is looking for his fur-ever home. He is great all around to include other dogs and kids. He has not lived with cats but has been around them and seems okay with them.
If you are interested in learning more about Vetr or our adoption process, apply today at https://www.careforanimals.org/shelter-luv-adopt-me one of our Caseworkers would love to answer any of your questions.
Hey somebody go get Vetr! And Reggie too. If our lives weren’t in such complete upheaval right now I think Vetr would be staying with us. It’s easy to fall in love with him.
We know we ask for fosters a lot, and it's easy to assume that someone else will step up and do it, but all too often we end up having to board large dogs (unless they are a doodle or other highly popular breed) because no one is willing to foster them. It's always easy to say someone else will take care of it, but if everyone thinks that, then no one helps.
Reggie and Vetr both need fosters to avoid going into boarding. We know that doesn't sound bad and we are very grateful for the facilities that do offer us discounts and take dogs on short notice. However, every day a dog is in boarding eats up funds that could go towards veterinary care, spay/neuter vouchers, dog food, or any one of the many expenses involved in rescue. Also, when a dog is in boarding it can be difficult to pull them out for our Saturday Showings as many facilities have restricted drop-off and pick-up times. This means the dog gets less attention and ultimately ends up in boarding even longer.
We provide any and everything you need to foster and even just a few nights can make a huge difference, especially if it is over a weekend. It's ok if you work all day, don't have a backyard, or have other dogs. Our dogs are fine being kenneled while you work and are happy to potty and exercise on a leash. Many of our dogs actually do BETTER in homes with other dogs because it gives them a playmate!
Please, help us to be a part of the solution and apply to foster today.

In honor of the new book project, "Everasting Love," featuring senior pets, I'm sharing a few extra special seniors that I've worked with in the past. Here's Percy in his pajamas. All who knew Percy remember him fondly, and he had a special place in so many hearts.
I'm now seeking more beautiful senior pets for my new book, Everlasting Love:

I just feel like everyone will have a better day if they see this. 🥰
Hallie joined us on the trampoline yesterday for the eclipse.
Why does Hallie think humans are weird?
A - They wear funny things on their faces 😎
B - They stare at the sun ☀️
C - They have this thing that’s strange to walk on but apparently they like it
D - They lose their minds if it gets dark for four minutes
E - All of the above
Even with all that has gone on with the stolen artwork and the problems with UPS, I'm glad I chose a company in Scotland to create my artwork.
It was really not a hard choice since they can create all the custom pieces I want to create, plus any more I might think of in the future.
But the best thing is talking to their customer service. It's the best part of my day.
Artwork is here, folks! Today I'll be contacting all the lucky people whose artwork has arrived!
Artwork was delivered while I was picking up my son from his viola solo evaluation in Harmony Grove … and again it was left on the front porch. Luckily my sweet neighbor saw it and texted me. She has now rescued it from the potential porch pirates.
Does anyone know a person who works at UPS locally, the higher up the better? This can’t continue.
It seems like ages ago, but really it was just a little more than a decade ago, that I made my way to a meetup in Las Vegas where I met Steve Saporito, all the way from Australia, for the first time.
I don't know what the other photographers in that room experienced, but for me it all clicked ... everything I had been looking for in my "why," in what I wanted my business to be doing, a vision for a business that would make a difference in the world.
It has been an amazing journey. Thanks to Steve, I found another group, at the time called Business Success Academy, then Fully Booked Photographer. That was a separate organization where I was able to work hard on marketing; bookkeeping that didn't require a degree in accounting; plus a lot of foundational stuff like my vision for my business. I met incredible mentors Ronan Ryle, Jeanine Shevlin McLeod, Jonathan Ryle and Bradley Bulmer. Like Steve, they all became like extended family across the globe.
Now the two groups are merging into The Difference Maker Revolution. I urge all my photographer friends to go over there and take a look. From there go over to the website, where there's free content that's very much like that first talk I heard Steve give, but better, more complete, refined into something that is going to remake this industry. The free content alone is literally worth thousands of dollars in your pocket if you take it and put it to work.
I only wish I had met all of them sooner! I remember being a newly established business, looking for some kind of learning that would help me create what I wanted to create. I'm 99 percent sure that one of the terms I Googled was "photography business difference maker." And here we are.
So excited for this new era in my business, and in the industry!
Update on the stolen artwork:
My lab is awesome. They expedited both production and shipping. The artwork is supposed to be here tomorrow.
BUT ...
The big BUT is UPS. I have been trying for a solid 90 minutes to get through to someone so that I can go pick this package up instead of taking the risk that it will be left out for someone to steal again. I can't do it through the website because there's some kind of glitch that doesn't even let me log in.
Now I'm on the phone with someone telling me that my request to pick up the package myself is not possible.
I can't risk it being left on my porch again. It looks like I have to do a facility hold. And the date I was originally told was probably not correct. But I'm crossing my fingers and hoping for Monday!
In case you didn't see the live video this morning:
Someone stole a large order of artwork from my front porch. I have called and/or messaged everyone concerned. I really do aim to make sure my client artwork gets ordered in a timely fashion. I'm working with my lab and we are going to get this resolved.
I'm upset with the thief, but I'm also pretty upset with the delivery driver who was clearly told to deliver all packages to the back entrance, who clearly knew this because he reported that the packages were delivered to the back entrance, but who uploaded a "proof of delivery" photo showing them at the front entrance. It's so easy for somebody to assume one of those big flat boxes is a wide screen television. I can only imagined how shocked and disappointed the theif was when they found out what was actually in the box. Serves them right.
Cat Month is coming! Once again I am setting aside a month to donate a percentage of sales to Community Cats of Central Arkansas. Last year I was able to donate $600 towards their efforts. This year, I’m aiming higher!
