Reasons why your house has become un-leveled | PART ONE! ☝️

Excessive moisture in the soil can cause your home to become unlevel. This can be caused by poor drainage around the foundation, or by plumbing leaks under the foundation.

It is critical to make sure that you have installed proper drainage around the foundation of your home, as well as having your pipes inspected regularly!

Let’s learn about Differential Settling! ✨

All foundations settle into the soil to some extent, even brand new houses. This is perfectly normal as long as the settling is uniform.

However, differential settling happens when the house is settling inconsistently. This is when different sections of the house are settling at different rates. This puts stress on the foundation and will result in uneven floors, as well as cracks in walls and ceilings.

FAQ: What happens if I don’t level my house?

A: By prolonging your house from being leveled, this will cause the floors in your home to be uneven. Which may cause doors to not seamlessly fit when they close, and cracks may slowly start to form in your walls and window joints.

Some settling is normal, but settling can also lead to bigger issues depending on the circumstances.
