Part of the 2024-2025 Budget is Proposition No. 2. This comprehensive project will be completed in one phase. The main focus is on the Building Condition Survey from the 2020 Building Condition Survey and making the district's buildings warm, safe, and dry. The impact on the taxpayer is $0. To find out more, watch the video or click below for the budget newsletter. https://www.lockportschools.org/Page/10531

Instructional Coaches, Mrs. Bitka and Mrs. Burtis worked with Mr. Mariglia on a Stop Motion Animation project at LHS. Students created stop motion stories in Canva based on a unit on math transformations. This was a great way for students to show their knowledge of the math vocabulary and demonstrate their ability to complete several math problems.

Have you ever wondered what a typical day for a teacher looks like? Well, you're in luck! We're launching a new series of videos on the district's page, "Day in the Life of a Teacher," to give you a behind-the-scenes look at the heart, effort, and passion that go into teaching. We love to give you a glimpse behind the scenes, so be sure to tune in and discover the world of teaching from a whole new perspective. Thank you to Ms. Ottaviano who is our first feature. She is a second teacher at George Southard. If you're a teacher interested in participating, contact [email protected] to get involved. It's a unique opportunity to witness the dedication and creativity that teachers bring to the classroom every day. #LCSDdayinthelife

Honoring a Lion Alum's Legacy! A 2nd-grade class at George Southard took time out of their day for a touching video tribute for Nicole DiCarlo, a cherished teacher and LCSD alum, who left a mark on countless lives in California where she taught. Keeping her spirit alive, many classes in our district have embraced her daily affirmations which continue to inspire and uplift us.

The Spanish Club at LHS created Cascarones! Cascarones are brightly colored hollow egg shells filled with confetti and covered with tissue paper and are popular in many Latin American countries. In Mexico, it is a tradition to hide them at Easter time, and afterward, the eggs are smashed on the heads of friends and families.
