Day 2 update on our wall rebuild project:

This project has been unique as we’ve reused the blocks that had previously been construction adhesive together. Thus causing g us to have to take extra time to hand scrap all of the old residue off of the block so we can lay them down.

Thankfully we found that we he wall had previously been laid on an old footer from a wall previously, after verifying that the footer was deep enough, we were able to use a paver base and run a plate compactor to get our first course of block level and straight. From there we set our woven fabric, laid a 4” corrugated piping (with slits) and started to backfill with our 57 lime material to promote drainage behind the wall. After each course we run a plate compactor over the stone to vibrate the stone and block into a firm fitment and fill a majority of void space so there’s limited settlement in the future. We also added a polyurethane grid after the second course of block to help secure the walls placement.

We ran out of time for the day but with 1 course to go we will be wrapping this up tomorrow afternoon and onto the next project.
