At your service! Stay tuned! 🥰
What do these guys have in common? More than you may think! New events are being planned for the fall and winter to get our families living with autism engaged in new ways!
From the barn to the beach, America celebrates Flag Day!
United we stand, divided we fall.
Our version of musical feed buckets!
A nice visual to share with your friends, family, and the general public.
Our tiny reindeer Charlie was a real trooper hanging with Santa to meet and greet every one who came by to visit on Christmas Eve. Over 100 people were anxiously awaiting their turn for a photo, and we couldn't be more proud of our little Charlie Daniels! Here's to hoping it was a Merry Christmas for ALL!
Hey, Santa! We mean, HAY Santa, we need hay!
Santa had a talk with his boys today, and looks like we may have additional helpers this year for photos with Santa and his therapeutic mini horses 🐎 stay tuned for inclusive upcoming holiday events!
Happy Independence Day from our gang! Therapeutic Mini's working hard to help people of all abilities become more independent and confident one step at a time!
The most Kentucky image you will see in a while...our beloved Dr. Smith making a house call to turn our little stud into a gelding! The little Shadow Man did great, was quick to find his feet after the procedure and most certainly didn't mind all the extra love and attention from Daddy!
We are hosting a Covid friendly, socially distanced, photos with Santa and his lesser known reindeer, Charlie, Wednesday, Dec 23 1 - 3 pm. If you are interested, or would like directions, please message us. There is no charge, and you can take your own photos. We hope to spread Christmas cheer, and bring awareness to our up and coming therapy horse program.
Work continues on training, organizing, training, planning, and training! We are not only training our horses, but we are training the trainers. We want every person you come into contact with at to be a trained individual to understand each horse, their quirks, their personality, and how to handle them. Horsemanship isn't an overnight achievement. While all of that continues on the physical side of things, we are working on the intangibles, the programs we want to offer, and hoping to fill the void for not only people with autism, but for their caregivers.
This is where YOUR voice will help us mold our program to help YOU.
Share with us your thoughts on a caregiver program. So much of being a successful caregiver involves being mentally strong, and therapeutically relaxed yourself, so you can regroup, and press on when life gets difficult down in the trenches. We are not psychiatrists, but we know the value of dedicated time to exhale. We will share our thoughts on program details, but really want to hear from you. As autism parents, we understand every single reality is unique, and each of us benefit in a different way.
When a full size horse does this, especially if you aren't wearing leather boots, the pain is legit! When your mini does this, you agree to hold still for a photo. 😂😍💕
The more we do, the more we need to do! We hope AutismGrows will be on your bucket list of things to do, see and experience in the very near future!
A little non verbal autism humor to start your day! OCD is real, and it's very real with a majority of autism diagnoses. For three days our son has been asking, "Dad, are you going to cut the grass?" What he means is, "Dad, you NEED to cut the grass!" After being met with answers he obviously didn't like, to show his disdain for the situation, I noticed his response! 😂
Hi! Glad you are here! Could you help a little fellow out, use your opposable thumbs, and clean my nose, please?
When you are tired of the photo shoot Mom and Dad explained was necessary for official "horse" work!
Happy Labor Day!
This is THE best part of what we are doing, and will be doing at AutismGrows! We will have young people with autism as trained handlers for the therapy horses! So excited to show everyone the endless opportunities these tiny horses offer, and for people WITH autism to work with people WITH autism, to help everyone gain a greater understanding for all.
What better image to launch a new page, than this one? This is the epitome of who we are, what we do, and what we hope to become on a grand scale in the future.
