Testosterone Tuesday: let’s talk thyroid. Did you know that if your thyroid is not optimized, you likely have symptoms of decreased androgen metabolism (with resulting decreased sex drive) as well as symptoms of depression? Not to mention anxiety, irritability, sleep issues, weight gain, hair loss, fatigue, among other things… If you’ve been told that your thyroid is fine, I betcha it’s not optimized! The issue is your PCP looks at the labs a different way than I do. They also look at the reference range as “normal”, which I do not. Just because your results don’t get flagged as high or low doesn’t mean that “it’s fine”. Look at the way you feel. It’s not “fine” to feel tired all the time, or to have no energy or sex drive. It’s not okay to walk around with brain fog or wake up several times a night. You owe it to yourself to make 2024 the year that you take your health into your own hands (with some help from me 😉).
