with Headquarters and Headquarters Squadron, MCAS Iwakuni, sets up explosive charges during a training exercise on May 23, 2024.

EOD trains regularly to ensure personnel understand proper handling of explosives and are able to rapidly and safely respond to threats to prevent any interruptions to base operations and protect surrounding areas, wherever they may be.

assigned to 1st Battalion, 187th Infantry Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division - Air Assault conducted a Combined Arms Live Fire Exercise (CALFEX) at Grafenwöhr Training Area, Germany. Companies synchronized employment of weapon systems, explosive charges, anti-tank weapons, battalion mortars, brigade artillery, and Army attack aviation. The live fire included the seizure of two urban objectives, breaching of a mine wired obstacle, clearance of a trench, and defeat of an armored counterattack.

💪 Warrior of the Week

U.S. Marine Corps Staff Sgt. Dylan Frizzi, a motor transport maintenance chief with Combat Logistic Battalion 26, and a native of Ohio, was selected as the Warrior of the Week on Camp Lejeune, North Carolina.

Frizzi was selected as the warrior of the week because of his leadership skills that his peers and junior Marines strive to emulate.

When asked what the best part of his job is, Frizzi said,

“Leading Marines and solving problems, motivating my Marines by helping them to navigate and solve the tough problems as they arise in order to push towards the objective.”

Each week, 2nd MLG recognizes one outstanding Marine or Sailor that goes above and beyond in their duties and embodies the qualities of an outstanding service member.

The Naval Aviation Enterprise Senior Enlisted Leadership Symposium 2024 kicked off May 20th. The symposium brought enlisted leaders assigned to various naval aviation units across the Navy and their spouses together to discuss policies such as quality of life, manning, recruiting, leadership development, and more that support and affect Sailors and their families.

Briefers included Vice Adm. Daniel Cheever, commander, Naval Air Forces; Rear Adm. Doug Verissimo, commander, Naval Air Force Atlantic; U.S. Fleet Forces Command's Fleet Master Chief John Perryman, and other fleet master chiefs.
