Wendy's garage
I’m Wendy, owner and operator at Wendy’s garage. I specialize in refinishing solid wood furniture.
What would you guys do and if you wake up and find an extra $3k in your bank account? Completely unexpected maybe a gift from grandma. I definitely would get another puppy! I survived puppyhood with my big boy, I can do it again. How bad can it be?!🙃😆
Anyway these are my latest dressers. I’m finishing up 4 more pieces, so back to work for me.
I normally do black or gold hardware but I feel like silver is having a comeback. What do we think? I’ve been doing more chrome, brushed nickel finishes and people seem to like it.
I was able to leave my house today and it was glorious! Living up in the hills when it snows isn’t super fun. Hopefully you had a relaxing time being home bound .
I bought a green couch, painted the walls pink and I cut my bangs! I most definitely regret cutting my bangs.
I’ve been working on this living for my daughters to have an extra space to hang out with their friends and it’s coming along nicely. I still have a ton of work to do but the walls as ready and we have seating.💚
Happy new year guys!!! Last year was a busy one for sure let’s hope I’ll finally learn how to slow down a bit. These are some my favorite pieces I did last year. Let’s see what treasures I will find this year.
They are ready for the holiday season! At least someone is. I’m just catching up with a ton of work but hey at least they are in the celebrating spirits. 🐶
Finally finished some pieces!! I just can’t get motivated to work with this cold weather. 7 years living in WA and I still can’t handle weather under 60 degrees.
Aren’t these so similar yet so different? Do you prefer painted or stained pieces?
I think there is room for both finishes in every home. I like wood tones in heavily trafficked areas and painted pieces for the rest of the house. Now I have 2 kids and 2 dogs so I don’t really have low traffic spaces in my home.🥴
My room needed a little change so looks like I’m keeping these night tables. They fit great in my small room. Should I leave them white or maybe go back to green like my previous ones?
Finally done with this one! This dresser was in a very bad shape so I had to completely start over and remove the old finish. I did a Kona stain and then sealed it with polyurethane in a satin finish. An off black color for the painted part and I kept the original hardware. What do you guys think?
A sea of white soon to be a sea of green!💚 painting days are my favorite days. 💚
Planning of restoring this MCM dresser made in Portland. Hopefully I can keep the original finish instead of painting but I won’t know until I start stripping/ sanding.🤞
Wendy’s garage or Pottery barn? Took me 3 weeks to finish this set but I’m finally done. 😍
Back to work this week! I’ve been off for the last 3 weeks.🙈 I adopted this little guys so we’ve been adjusting. 2 pups under a year old is total madness but totally worth it too. Isn’t Teddy looking more and more like a Sasquatch.😂
What do we think about this color ? It’s a new color to me. It’s an off black with strong gray undertones. 😁
Happy weekend you guys! I’ve been deep cleaning my house and I’m about to throw everything out the window!🙈 dogs and a clean house seems like an impossibility at this point. Anyhow, look at these pieces I just finished. If I only had a bigger bedroom, I’d most definitely be keeping them for myself.
I love when I get to this step because I’ll be almost done with prep and I get to paint.
I’ll be priming today and painting tomorrow.
Should I do green or blue for these? I feel like they’ll be so pretty in a rich color but this soft black is pretty too.💚🖤💙
What do we prefer. Dark charcoal gray paired with dark hardware or dark charcoal gray paired with gold hardware? I’m loving the dark on dark look lately. 🖤
You guys I’ve been so busy tackling home projects and now my house is in shambles!!🙈 I’m redoing my hallway floors and I ran out of them but the problem is that they are out of stock. Looks like they are discontinued!! I’m trying to find one more box to finish my floors. Anyways while I’ve been destroying my house I finished all these pieces. I can only do this technique when the weather is warm.
Before or after?💚
The colors I wanted for this set were out of stock so a pottery barn inspired finish it is. From brown/red finish to a natural soft wood tone.
I can only do this technique when we have warmer weather so I’ll be doing a couple more pieces in a similar finish. 😊
You guys I’ve had the worst 2 weeks ever! Got in to a car crash and thankfully I made it out ok just very sore. My car was a total loss so I’m still waiting on the insurance so I can replace it. And because when it rains it pours I came down with an upper respiratory infection. Thankfully I’m doing good now and just been hanging out with my little dude and taking it easy. Hopefully I get to finish some cool pieces I’ve been working on soon.
Trying this new color and I absolutely love it! Such a beautiful neutral. I paired it with a medium wood tone stain and I think they complement each other so well. Definitely a keeper.😍
What color should I paint this set? Green, blue, gray?💚💙🩶
I’m so happy I can work with the garage doors open again! This set is done! I’m going to let it sit under the sun for a little while before I deliver it. 🌞
Can’t get anything done with this dude! Just came home from vacations and he is extra needy so he is assisting today!
Anyhow I’m starting this custom bedroom set today. It’s going to be olive green!💚
I get asked all the time if I have a store. The answer is I do and I don’t.
I don’t have a brick and mortar location nor do I rent a booth anywhere. I have a split level home so I turned all the downstairs space into my store. The main living area is the “store front” while the garage is the work space, I have a studio space as well, where I have all my studio lights for photographing my pieces.
I like keeping things simple and having flexibility with my schedule. Opening a store front is way more complicated and requires a lot more than what I’m ready for in this season of life.
Anyhow, thank you to all of you that don’t feel uncomfortable picking up furniture from my home run shop. I swear I don’t bite! I do talk a lot though.
( These are older pictures so all theses pieces are sold but it gives you an idea of what I’m talking about.)
Which olive green color do you guys like the most? The aged and weathered olive green or the more vibrant one? (these pieces aren’t available)
Back to work! Well, kinda. I haven’t been working much lately. I’ve been relaxing with the kiddos and the furry baby.
I don’t think I shared these pieces yet.
These night tables were a vanity I took apart and converted them into what they are. They are perfect for smaller bedrooms because they are narrow but still have plenty of storage space.
I don’t do big hutches anymore but I HAD to get my hands on this on this one.🥰
Buffet tables and side boards are my favorite pieces to work on! For some reason they require the most work sometimes. I guess people just take their frustration out on them!😂 I often choose this color because it’s super versatile and goes with a lot colors.
One of those days!!! I was almost done with this buffet but then the right door was a little lighter than the other one.😡 So I’m redoing it. I remember why I only do this finish during warmer weather! It takes so long for it to dry.
