Died on December 29, 1790, the late Thomas Fuller was an African slave known for his skills in mathematics. He was captured in Africa by white slaves and shipped to the USA in 1724 when he was only 14.
He was so good at math, he could do unimaginable calculations. One day when they asked him how many seconds there were in a year and a half, he answered in approximately two minutes, 47304000. Pro-abolitionists and white philanthropists used his talent as proof that Black slaves were equal to Whites in intelligence.
Thomas Fuller, was a very great Mathematician, but unfortunately forgotten about history.
This December 29 marks the 233rd anniversary of his death.

On January 8, 1942, in Oxford, England, astrophysicist and cosmologist Stephen William Hawking was born.. He was born in Oxford because his parents fled London to avoid Luftwaffe bombings during WWII. They returned to London when their father, biologist Frank Hawking entered the parasitology department at the National Institute for Medical Research.

In 1950 they moved to Saint Albans, where Stephen spent his early years of study at a girls' school, which accepted boys up to age 10. Although he wanted to be a mathematician, he gave in to the pressure of his father to study natural sciences, gradually he was specializing in physics and definitely turned to thermodynamics, relativity and quantum mechanics. To fight boredom he joined the college rowing team.

In 1962 he obtained his bachelor degree and decided to go for a postgraduate degree in physics at Cambridge. Shortly after entering and about to marry he was diagnosed with amiotrophic lateral sclerosis (ELA), he became aware that he would slowly lose neuromuscular control. With a medical tutor he achieved a PhD in Physics in 1966. Despite doctors predicted him no more than 2 years to live, Stephen became the only human with the disease who lived with it for more than 50 years. Together with his colleague Roger Penrose they began to work on a complex mathematical model from Albert Einstein's theory of general relativity.

In 1970 they published the findings and the "Singularity Theorems" on the universe's spacetime relationship. Because of these applicants he was admitted to the Royal Society of London, being the youngest to date. He made breakthroughs in measuring mass and electrical charges of potholes black and proved that they emit subatomic particles to what was called "Hawkins Radiation". Together with James Hartle, he created a model that challenges the universe didn't have an initial state or big bang, but lacks a space and age limit.

He is the scientist with the most recognitions and decorations. The disease ended up disabling all of his body's voluntary movement muscles, so he couldn't even hold his head up high. In 2009 he asked Intel for help to perfect his way of communicating, the system could only interpret and emit one word per minute. Death found him on March 14, 2018 with zero control over his body and in fullness of his mental faculties.
